Dylan was absolutely incredible in this musical. What a voice. I adored him as Dumbledore, but this might be even better.
Oh, and I just finished the musical, and I'm actually crying right now no lie.
The very last "this is all Ja'far's fault" just makes me sob.
This is all Jafar's fault
"You're like...a devil guy!" "But like...with money!" "Me neither!" Jasmine's deliveries of her little naive comments are so good.
"Captain? Don't you mean Princess?"
KILLS ME EVERYTIME XD
The fact the actor came out as using they/them recently...how adorable
Jim Povolo is the most fabulous Princess of them all.
Darn tootin.
Rizz Plays Games dang it u beat me to it! 😂
DARN TOOTIN'!!!
Darn Tootin' again!
The end is so poetic. The script was very strong and intelligent and the actors are amazing as usual, I wasn't expecting this to be that good
I'm crying and the ending with Aladdin being the guy from the begining of the movie genius. STARKID YOU GENIUS PEOPLE
I thought I was the only one who realized ^_^
JustlikeVal I know I freaked out!!!!!!!!!!!!
"then i wish you every happiness" and then we all cried tbh
That was beautiful! I absolutely loved the end--the redemption for Jasmine, all the Disney references, and of course Ja'far finally being reunited with his wife ;D I originally thought I wouldn't like this but I should've never doubted Starkid! Great jobs guys!
"You have her eyes, you have her heart"- OMFG I don't think I have heard anything more beautiful
"You're a diamond in the rough." omfg I almost burst into tears
This is the best Starkid show in a while! Love you all so much! Keep up the brilliant work! Here's to the next *cheers*
The pop version of "1001 Nights" just completed me.
Juliann N I know. I so want to buy that song on iTunes. Reminds me of the feel-good songs they had in the credits of Golden Age Disney.
This musical is so smart! That's what I love about Starkid. They don't just do a straight parody musical. They make a clever piece that really makes you think and understand while entertaining and being funny. You can make all the fucking jokes you want and just be funny, but starkid also teaches us life lessons and creates something to beautiful. I was expecting a straight Wicked knock off but the whole Disney 2D animation vs Pixar thing added such a great dimension to the work. Love it!
Haha a great "dimension."
I love how the credits are exactly like with real disney movie with a pop version of one of the songs
Standing ovation. I am gonna watch it again. I wish Starkid's work was more well known, they are so amazing. Please never, never stop making musicals. I am confident that your fans would fund many more shows if you asked. Totally Awesome!
It wasn't until just now that I realized how great the princess's character development was. She had three wishes to get "everything and more" literally handed to her, and yet none of the three wishes were for herself or had anything to do with herself.
These feels were uncalled for, Starkid.
I can't even process the amount of feels going on. There needs to be some kind of manual produced to cope with Starkid feels. Or a 50s-esque self improvement informational video. There is just absolutely no way for me to handle this right now. I'll need to watch it several more times before I can sort this all out.
Realistically, a thousand and one nights is really only like three years.
Look up the original story and its a lot more impressive
I love the 90's soulful singing at the end haha perfection
Is it bad that I just realized Prince Achmed's kingdom is Pixar and that the 2D's were not, in fact, a dirty joke but like the original 2D Disney movies??
Michelle B Holy shit you just blew my mind, I was seeing it as a dirty joke. This is all your fault Michelle B.
+Arch Terran you mean Jafar
Funny I was going to blame hermione lol
I love how when they're all walking off Joe adds "Wait, what happened to Jafar?"
Way better than Aladin. And Dylan got finaly an opportunity to show how much talent is hidden in him. This is the love story I want. One of the best I have seen.
I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THAT KISS SINCE THE BEGINNING OF THIS WHOLE DAMN PLAY MUSICAL THINGY!!! I FUCKING LOVE YOU STARKID!!
omg the end credit song is definitely what you would hear at the end of the old disney movies
*everyone on stage laughs joyfully*
*lights turn off and screen goes black*
"wait what happened to Jafar?"
Gets me every time
OMG YOU GUYS THEY KISSED
I DIDNT THINK THEY WOULD AND I'M SO HAPPY
Star Kidlover dude i've stage kissed before, that was no stage kiss
Star Kidlover TheSkyIsActuallyTeal guys, chill down; only the actors could tell you if it was a stage kiss...
I had a wonderful time watching this show. It was so enjoyable! The quality of the production was really something, and the newer members of the cast really held their own, while the older members showed why they got this following to begin with. Lovely! And boy! The pop version was really well sung! Hope you have Britney Coleman get to show off those pipes in a future show!
As a superfan of both Disney and Wicked, I applaud you!!!! Congradulations Starkid!! For yet another great show!!!!
so Dumbledore hooked up with senior year hermione.....
McMuffinFangirl314 i was thinking that the entire musical
Twice lol they also hooked up in Starship as Tootsie Noodles and MegaGirl
The moment Dylan sang 'It is done' was one of the most beautiful moments in theater history I have ever seen! Thanks, Starkids!
okay terrible pop cover credits is the icing on the cake
The scriptwriters are getting better with each production. Clever writing while maintaining their love of parody. The profanity was a little heavy in places and jarring instead of serving as comic relief. Let the tongue in cheek humour speak for itself.
I totally agree. It was funny in some parts (even essential) but it was little too much over all.
Personally I think their writing was much more clever in... oh... every other production they've done so far...
Jim as a princess!
Alexis Bode haha yeah!
Darn Tootin
Tootsie Noodles and Mega girl forever!!!
"I wish you every happiness"
I'm not crying you're crying
Oh god this was amazing as soon as I heard her voice at the end say "that's not how I remember it ending." I was like in tears. Brilliant you guys.
Um okay that was AMAZING. I'm so impressed I wish I could do things like this. You've mastered making people laugh AND cry!
This will always be my favourite Starkid musical!!
Holy crap, says he role is 'princess', and I realize they never called her Jasmine. Did they somehow get the rights to the other names, but not hers?
well aladdin is public domain, but the disney version isn't.
Tara S
What about Jafar then? I noticed alot of charackters didn't have names here, but is he in the original story? o.o
Jack S. jafar was in the original story of Aladdin but genie wasn't that's why they used the other name for genie which is Dijon.
I just didn't know he had a name. But okay, tkanks. :)
Btw, you might mean 'Djinn' Dijon is a city in France...
Jack S. ya sorry was typing on my phone so it auto corrected thank you. :)
"The Power in Me" is such a beautiful song! They really took a risk by throwing in that unique twist by making them unknown father and daughter and it paid off soooo beautifully! Definitely one of my favorite songs in the entire show
I am very sad to find that of the nearly 150,000 people who watched act 1 part 1 only 38,000 watched it to the end. This show and Starkid in general deserves so many more views and subscribers. I have made it a personal mission to spread the joy and genius of Starkid.
Well personally, I watched it all the way through first, but I've listened to Dream A Little Harder countless times. So that might account for some of those views.
That makes sense
There's also the other video with the full show, I watched that one instead, so you'd have to add the views :)
Personally, if I want to watch the whole show, I watch the upload with the full show. I only watch the parts when I want to watch/listen to a specific part.
No.. I'm not crying. The ninjas must be cutting onions again.
I love everything Starkid produces. I will definitely be buying this on dvd. Love it. Love everything. I really hope you guys keep producing musicals. I know it must be hard, but you'll always have the fans to back you.
That was the most Disney-esque ending song I`ve ever heard. o.o
This was actually really really well written! I was just watching it because I got bored, and figured a funny musical would do me some good. I wasn't expecting it to be so amazing, but it definitely was!
I love the fact that Starkid is hilarious comedy, adorable romance, tear-jerking drama....and it also carries a really powerful message to it :) its everything musical theater should be and more. what I would give to be a part of this company! Y'all make me so happy. Never stop being totally awesome!!
SHE HAS HER MOTHERS EYESSSS
No matter how many times I watch this, the line "I wish you didnt have to go when our story's just begun" always makes my heart hurt a little
Hey, after watching this, is anybody else just going back to starship to replay the tootsie noodles/megagirl romance and then switching back to this??? Wouldn't be surprised, I love watching their ongoing chemestry...
That was just the best starkid musical I ever watched! I loved how not only they did a lot of "Wicked" references, but also they mention a lot of references to disney movies and about the disney franchise in general. It's just like with the potter musicals, where it's all about the franchise in general too. But besides the jokes, I love how it almost feels like a disney movie and it has heart because we all grew up with disney movies. Very Beautiful Starkid musical and I love to see what new musical they can come up with next.
IM FUCKING CRYING. THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT, JAFAR.
Sofia Delos Reyes ME TOO!
Itty bitty living space :P
was anyone else like FINALLY!! when they finally kissed at the end! such an amazing show!
This was -take off your clothes- amazing!!!
How did you Cross out your Words?
*_-With magic-_* There are some formatting tricks, use these without the }{ }*Word*{ for *Word* }-Word-{ for -Word- and }_Word_{ for _Word_
}-Shut-{ }-up-{ Thank you.
Didn't work.
For the sake of argument I will assume you aren't joking. I said don't use the curly brackets, use the symbol * - or _ on both sides of the word or words to format
Dylan acted his heart out...he cried twice, oh my goodness
Great job guys, really well done. Congrats.
I'm so moved by Dylan's Performance! I'm glad he was the lead in this! How about we see a leading lady next guys?
So emotional! Just amazing how they can make something so crude and funny yet also bring tears to your eyes at the end!
I feel like the show should have ended with Genie saying "A-b-a-b-a-b-a-b-a-b-a-b-a-b-a-b-a-b-ya, that's all folks!"
this ending song is incredibly reminiscent of all those disney movie endings i had on VHS... perfect
Absolutely adored all of it! Don't know if I'll ever be able to watch Aladdin in the same way again
You guys should be so proud of this, its definitely the best you've done, it had me laughing all the way through and crying at the end :) favourite musical ever
Thank you, StarKid. Everytime I see a new work of yours, I remember the reason I fucking love what you guys do. Keep doing all these amazing plays. Don't you dare to stop.
I like the idea that you can't wish to bring back the dead (which I wonder if Jafar tried to do off-screen before wishing to be the Sultan), but the Djinn's power can bring back the dead if it means fulfilling a different wish.
Wow. This was so well-done, everyone was in character until the end, the musical numbers were perfectly executed. Thank you, Starkid, for producing yet again a witty, emotional, beautiful masterpiece and sharing it with us.
new otp: Ja'far and Sherrezade
This was amazing... StarKid is TRULY amazing... They know how to make me laugh, cry, and feel every other feeling possible in one play. Truly remarkable!
This has the same three "ah" ending notes as Beauty and the Beast. And the Little Mermaid. I see a trend.
Abigail Davis and pocahontas I think
That was so good you guys, Seriously I'm sobbing my eyes out, it just makes me regret that I wasn't able to go and watch it. The story, the music, the actors, the sets, everything was perfection.
i always adored Dylan's voice. He is awesome and always will be.
Starkid, you never cease to amaze. Absolutely magical!
Gotta love the Carousel of Progress reference
That kiss tho!
so much real love
wait are they together IRL?
Ashley Brown Na, I'm pretty sure Meredith and Brian Holden are a couple :)
Jafar has always been a character I've held close to my heart. Team Starkid has not only done him justice but portrayed my feelings for the character and voiced praises I have been trying to find a voice for for years.
Well done.
If you don't cry at the end of this you are fucking soulless
Thank you Starkid for being absolutely more amazing than you could possibly comprehend! You combined and referenced so many of my favorite Disney movies--so many of my favorite movies--into one amazing show. Thanks for being an inspiration to commoners like me!
I just want this to keep going forever really.
I need more starkid, as a princess I think I have that right..
but seriously, this was perfect!
I cried when Jafar and his wife was reunited. This was amazing!
Twisted definitely proves how much StarKid has evolved. Honestly, this was the best musical you've done. The quality of everything is so impressive! I'm really glad that you shared this with us. Amazing!
Another incredible show, Starkid! Congrats on a brilliant comedy/satire/allegory, a warm welcome to the newest members of the Team, and Happy Eat A Turkey Day to everyone!
For those who watch the Flash tv show... Cisco is the male voice in the end credits!!
WHY IS DYLAN SAUNDERS SO AMAZING!?
The song between Jasmine and Jafar reminded me of For Good
Why isn't this on Broadway??
Just here crying again
Actually cried at the end, it's absolutely beautiful. Ja'far character and his story are perfectly written.
Complete with 90s-esque cover of the love song at the end. PERFECT.
I laughed and cried. This was just so amazing! I love you guys!
I was wondering throughout this whole musical, "How will it end?" But now I know.
It doesn't.
Just watched the whole thing in one setting. Phenomenal!!
It's amazing how a musical parody can put a 22 yr old Navy Sailor like me in tears... after hundreds of times watching this :p
Ugh...just so...there are no words. Starkid, you guys just amaze the hell out of me. Everything you do is so hilarious but also beautiful and poignant at the same time. Please keep doing what you're doing and realize that you are shaping a generation.
An amazing play by Starkid. I really love how Achmed becomes good in the end. Joe Walker is everything.
Thank you, Team Starkid. Thank you for another great musical, your music has lit up my life for two and a half years now, and I hope to see more great shows from all of you in the future. Good luck for whatever the future brings all of you.
Jasmine is Jafars daughter...my world means nothing anymore
i'll never be able to go to disney world/land or watch this movie the same way ever again. . .
And remember, the Disney movie is just Aladdin as the merchant making himself out to be the hero. This is the true story.
Dylan deserves this part so much. He is amazing.
This is probably the best production put on by StarKid. I fell in love with everything about their shows and people all over again. I am proud to be apart of this fandom! :)
Starkid, you've created some great musicals before starting with A Very Potter Musical all the way up to Holy Musical B@tman, but this had such wonderfully tight music, was short enough to hold my interest the entire time and was SO VERY clever that I feel without a doubt this was your best musical yet. I absolutely loved it! I believe this is a script that you could sell to other theater companies because it is that well done. Thank you for being willing to share this with those of your fans who couldn't come to see it. This was truly a magically wonderful musical. :)
So wonderful! The boyfriend and I laughed...we cried...we cheered, and now we wish everyone a happy goodnight
SO AMAZING
