- Local news reports following issues caused during Newcastle supporters queuing overnight for tickets in February 1993.
The 4800 tickets made available for the FA Cup 5th Round fixture at Blackburn 2 days later was never going to be enough and it was fortunate there were no serious injuries caused due to the lack of organisation outside St James Park.
The clip continues to showcase the redevelopment plans that were signed off alongside the (thankfully failed) bizarre idea of a North East Arena for all clubs...

Love stuff like this. My dad worked nights and even that wasn't to our advantage. Had a contact at the ticket office a few month later luckily.
Queued from about 10pm, remember them opening the ticket office early but forgot about any trouble. They seemed surprised that people brought beer, what other ways to pass the time?! They moved to a postal system with stamped addressed envelopes for away tickets soon afterwards.
No Internet crashing back then like
The good old days it was great queing up
It appeared a lot easier then!
Y, ayeman...
