He definitely ripped off your design. The way he's acting about this situation has made me lose respect for him. Not to mention the hypocrisy of it all. When another makeup brand had a similar layout and color scheme to his eyeshadow palette, he called them out and claimed they copied him. Now that he has done the exact same thing to your hoodie, with the EXACT same layout and almost identical color scheme, he dismisses it by saying you guys didn't invent color block and it's not "exactly the same". Well, the makeup brand that "copied" his palette didn't have the exact same colors and layout as his, yet he didn't hesitate to claim it was rip off. Not to mention he ADMITTED that his team may have ripped you guys off. It's really up to you guys if you want to take this further.

Like why would you have a team of other people to make everything for you and all your involvement is approving it or not? It seem incredibly disingenuous to me. Wow. I know now that his "design team" is really not doing much but copying and pasting others' great work. Maybe James didn't know when it was first pitched, but after the conversations you guys had, it's clear that he now is just completely okay with pushing copied material with no remorse. This is what it seems like to me too. It's fucked up that his response was "well it's too late now for me to not make money off of this". He knows it's wrong to copy other people's work and if his team fucked up in a way that looks bad on him, he could at least make amends by directing profit to a cause of Hila's choosing instead of using it to support his luxury lifestyle.

What makes me even more mad is how many people try to reduce this to similar designs when the reality is he’s stealing intellectual and artistic property of teddy fresh and Hila Klein. The options here are talk about it and try to find a solution, which James seems too stuck up to do, or press charges on an irresponsible problematic teenager who has no real control or ownership of his company.

Some of their designers did, but when they found out, they fired the designer, contacted the original design owner, got his permission to sell it and cut them in with the profits. They also addressed and apologised about it.
