very true, this season has been the worst with it.
20 hertz servers be hitting hard
3-5 business days for your next shot to hit. Your enemies got express shipping tho
"FIGHT WITH ME!!! WHAT ARE YOU RUNNING FOR???"
- Tick rate is bad (worse than csgo's old 64)
- People with high ping have backtracking bullets (client sided reg)
- Player POV is at mouth-nose level, that's why people can shoot us above cover although we don't see them at all
- Pubs are still harder than ranked below diamond 3
- Fuse's Q can go through doors since he is in the game (almost 13 whole seasons)
- Why deathboxes still have collisions?
- Why body blocking is still a thing?
Fuse q doesnt go through doors unless it is opened even if its only a tiny creak. Pubs also arent any harder as long as you dont hot drop with 40 people.

And conversely, I’ve had plenty of instances shooting an enemy for a few seconds straight, hearing the sound of them getting hit, and not doing any damage to them. I’ve lost fights to Apex Legends’ weird latency.

server tickrate and terrible route does that, i have packet loss on apex basically every 3 or 4 games, on any other game or streams or anything its always perfect... the desinc is absurd, there were legit times where i died to a pk shot after i closed the door and started popping a bat

I've had this happen to me so many times too xD, I remember cracking a guy on a roof, then jumping on the other side of the roof so he can't shoot me, but then he shot me and I got knocked xD

its even worse for me with 60 more ping. shit is hideous. 60% of all damage I take is when I'm behind a wall and half of my shot don't even register. the fact that respawn gets away with 20hz servers 5 years after the launch even tho the engine is capable of pulling 60 like in titan fall 2 (or even more) is fucking ridiculous.

the reason you get shot behind walls is because some video games including games made with source engine like apex legends and CSGO process the shot on client side then the server checks if those shots were feasable the moment it happened on the client then it does register the damage so an opponent with higher ping sees every thing you do a little bit later so he sees you fight him later than you do and sees you take cover later and sens he shot you when you were open on his screen you get the damage regestered later too
im glad it´s not just me that have this disgusting bug lmao

This is just a symptom of client side hit calculations. If the opponent has more latency than you then when they fire at you you're still visible to them, their client calculates that the hit is good, tells the server, server tells your client. Most online shooters work this way these days, and honestly it's dumb, but it lets people with bad connections play. You might want to look at trying different servers in case you're getting one with a lot of people connecting with bad connections.
its because of high ping players from asia leaving their servers to avoid cheaters on 200-300 ping, they hit u in their screen when ur still exposed but since they have high ping the hit registers later for u but they did hit u as they would for a normal ping player its just that the damages are delayed

youre aware that the timewindow they see u is not longer than the time window u peak them its just shifted if the server had better ticks and ping theyd still hit you
Its really not through the wall. It's just the netcode, on the server side you werent behind the wall when the enemy hit you.
The desync is either as a result of the quality of your connection or the shitty connection of the opponent that the server is compensating for or these servers are just cooked.

It takes time for the server to register the enemy shot you, and then for you to download that info. Did you think all of this is supposed to happen instantly?

The amount of inconsistent hit registers this season is egregious, don't even start with that bullshit. It's very obvious that it's a problem with the new season update. The only people who should be shooting you 'through walls' are people playing from across the ocean.
i wonder how this affect peaking advantage, why doesnt the latency affect the person shooting too, or perhaps the is a shadow that can still be shot ?
@@jennydeepable It does affect the enemy too, everyone is affected. Gruic is also shooting people behind cover from enemy's perspective. But no one actually shoots each other behind cover, it's just that the information that I shot you while you were out of cover is late to you.
It's an egregious amount of latency for a popular shooter. It has been back and forth between seasons. The hit reg should not be that delayed by default, otherwise something is wrong on Respawns side.

Ohhhh this explains why Apex is so fucking awful this season.
Literally rage inducing how bad the server latency is. I've died while behind structures or moving out from / towards structures more times than I can count. I'm not very good, highest I've reached is Diamond, but I spend most of my time in Plat, and this season has just been whack.
I am done with apex. Been done since season 6. It just keeps getting laggier and laggier.
