@@salt5711completing the square would be writing it in the form (x-5)²-9=0. You can solve it then by going (x-5)²=9 and then x-5=± 3 so x=5+3=8 or x=5-3=2. I got (x-5)²-9 by setting up a bracket with (x )² halving the number in front of the x, putting that in the bracket to get (x-5)² and then you take the number in the bracket, square it, take it away from the bracket and add the number without an x so (x-5)²-25+16 and that becomes (x-5)²-9
