For anyone wondering what this thing does, it's a small programmable device with many features like IR and an antenna, It has an ESP32 chipset. So anyone who knows about that can tell how much this thing can do. It's honestly really cool for the price and I would recommend picking one up or doing your research.
TLDR: cool little programmable device with lots of features.
Edit: people don't realize that this doesn't "do" anything without programming it, so to all the people mad because I didn't say what it can "do" that's because you have to program it to "do" things, this comment was just to help people understand, if you would like to know more then i would recommend doing your own research.

it is a programmable 'frutsel' type gadget. It doesn't *do* much as-is from the looks of it, but you could program it to do stuff. What the stuff is, is up to you.

It has an IR diode sure.
It can beacon BLE.
It has some GPIO and support for i2c spi uart it may even be able to expose uart over its usb interface so can act as a usb to serial converter.
But it is not a flipper zero at all.
I have one. Its set up for running nightdriver LED controls. Great for controlling a strip of LEDs, but is as useful as a normal arduino or esp32 for security purposes. Which is to say you could... write some custom code, attach some peripherals, do some stuff with it, but it lacks the spit and polish of anything commercial.

Edit: this idea is apparently difficult for some of those in the replies to grasp.
For anyone wondering, you could literally just make your own flipper with custom components. If you took the time to learn you could even make your own pcb board that’s identical to the flipper with the exact parts and all, design a 3D printed case and you’ve got a flipper.
But why? To get wifi passwords? To know have to touch grass? To store offline data that can't be saved or done through a 10$ phone?

@@10monetizacao32 either one (the flipper or the “knock off” that is shown) would probably not have schematics that exist online BUT someone somewhere has a tear down video I bet and all you need to know really is which components were used and you can make the schematic yourself

This is not an alternative. Rather, it is a slightly different device that has different parameters and lacks some features (e.g. NFC) and has some extra features (e.g. microphone).

Has that the flipper doesn't:

The coolest features of the flipper are not present on this device.

@@alexfowler3867 It's fine and I don't have anything against it as a device but calling it a flipper alternative is simply lying. I don't even particularly like the flipper from a trying to learn things standpoint. There are better devices to learn things about any given element on it the flipper is just an all in one attack platform with very little learning to be had.
If you want to learn about any of these things individual cost effective devices are out there.
Wifi: your existing laptop (or an ESP32 module)
Bluetooth: Your existing laptop (or and ESP32 module)
NFC/RFID: proxmark 3 ez
Radio: RTL SDR or more in line with the flipper an Evil Crow or Hack RF
IR: An ESP32 + Infrared led and IR transistor.
ESP32? costs like 3 bucks. and 3 bucks for the screen. oh and 30 cents for the microphone and 10 cents for the button.

It’s actually leaps ahead in terms of processing power, but it just lacks enough GPIO to have all the features the flipper does. Still shows that an ESP32 is much more feasible than the STM32 used in the flipper, just lacks the support

Нет, в моих снах метро это что то родное.( возможно обманчиво) однако я хз сколько там станций. И оно не снилось с тех пор как у меня закончилась срочка в москве.и я уехал домой , тоесть с 2005 года. Должно быть оно снится только тем кто находится рядом. Возможно в нём затаилась какая то нечисть, или правительство наставило излучателей которые заставляют метро сниться всем кто находится близко. You can also use it to steal ppls credit card numbers by running it near thker wallet and it picks up the chip on the card to give gpy the info, you can use it to scan for a chip in a llst or strat dog to return jt home, turn on and off the intercoms at stores for anluncements, open garage doors, car doors, and scan card access dpors it can get you into as well this js all woth the dolphin one idk ablut the one they talkjng about in video im sure kt does same stuff.

it all maters what knowledge you have, if your a real pentester or something like that, you wouldnt use these toys couse you could do the same with just a computer and some attachments, but these "toys" guarantee you simplisity, easy use and portability.
its a fact that many noobies are using this type of stuff to just flex that they are "rEaL hAckErs", but im 100% sure that this stuff wasnt meant to be used this way, that it wasnt build to be used by that type of people.

The M5StickC Plus is an open-source, portable, IoT development board. It's an upgrade of the original M5StickC with a larger screen, Bluetooth 4.0, and WiFi.
The M5StickC Plus has a 1.14-inch LCD screen with a resolution of 135 x 240, and it includes integrated hardware resources such as:
Infrared, RTC, Microphone, LED, IMU, Buttons, PMU

Lol! I saw the m5stamp MCU everywhere and now theyre trying to compete with the flipper. It seems more open-source, the internal esp32 (160-240mhz integrated dual core) in this run at nearly 4x the speed of the cortextM4 (core 1 of flipper at 64MHz) and 8x the cortexM0 (core 2 of the flipper 32MHz) in the flipper. The M4 has the same efficiency per hz, but the M0 does not. Although slightly less power efficient, it has potential, but you never know. Also, there seem to be very limited GPIO pins (x3) which would require a mux of some kind to do more extensive integration. Another upside of an esp32 core is all of them are wifi enabled, no extra cost. Not sure how good their superheterdyne is given the size and cost tho. Also, low frequencies will likely be noisier than the flipper given that the antenna must be shorter. This may inhibit range a decent bit too. I wonder how easy it is to mod???
This thing can't even do the low frequencies as it is missing the cc1101 chip the flipper uses. Also the flipper only supports wifi with an ESP32 attached to it. Can't do NFC, can't do rfid. It's also extremely painful (and not officially supported) to dynamically load code to an esp32 unless you are replacing the entire firmware. So no just dropping modules on an SD card, you have to recompile literally everything.
A flipper equivalent with an esp32 at its heart is likely possible but someone really has to put in the labor to dynamically load code for it to really be useful.
