Coming out is really hard but it’s worth it. I waited till I was 24 years old. I’m 59 now but I’m one of the people that help clear the passageway for the gay rights today in my age group does that many of us because of aids but today it’s all different, the kids that come out today. They have to realize they’re gay and they don’t need to have their sex change to a woman to be with a man. It would be hard to find a guy that’s gay if you’re a girl, so what I’m trying to say is OK life is fun a man’s body is beautiful, don’t change it and a woman’s body is beautiful. Don’t change that either if you like women and you’re a woman that’s what you want if you’re a boy and do you like this boy that’s gay he wants you to stay a boy. Otherwise he would be with a girl I don’t understand why people want to change who they are. God put us out here and we’re gay and proud you don’t need to go under a knife and be operated on to be a girl, because you like guys, I guess what I’m trying to say is try to stay out of the hospitals as much as possible except for you are and enjoy your body. It’s yours and God gave it to you whether it be for another guy or another girl we’re gay and we didn’t fight to get equal rights for women or gay rights for all of us to have somebody change from a boy to a girl or a girl to a boy because the matter what you still like boys and the boys that you want is gay, he would like another boy not a girl when I first came out there was a guy who had a sex change. God gave you a beautiful body don’t change it live your life enjoy it and have fun. Totally relate to you! Came out at 21yrs, I am 57yrs, but became HIV+ in 1994. At first taking meds it was a nightmare. In 1995, they did not go by the viral load to start meds. It was the sooner the better. Meds were like 6 pills in the morning, another six in the evening, with an empty stomach, had to wait two hours after taking them. Side effects were wicked, I mean wicked. Kidney Stones, too many to list here and most made you use the toilet like every hour on the hour. Today, I take a Cabenuva injec. every two months. This is not advertising the injec., but to me is like not taking anything for HIV. Not seeing the pills every day, No Stones, no taking Imodium more than Viagara lol, Hahahahahaha,,, for real. I am blessed, God never forgot about me. When I became + , is when I really started to live and enjoy life. Back in 1994 I thought I would die in less than a year and in a few days I will Welcome 2024 ! 1995 started working for Continental Airlines, continued my carrier with the Industry. Have traveled To Asia, nothing I never even dreamed of. Working as a Flight Attendant some of my destinations with Omni Air International was Tahiti, Japan Okinawa and Tokyo. Honolulu from my base Las Vegas. Frankfurt Germany from Los Angeles doing military flights. Leisure travel to Europe and many, many places. I do mention it not to brag about it. I do because I was born in a tiny town, in the middle of central mountains of Puerto Rico. Utuado is my home town. We had no fast food, no movie theaters, no shopping malls, etc. Had to drive to the next town or even to the capital San Juan (2hrs) to access modern civilization 😄 and proud to be from Utuado. My Mom a single mother of three, school teacher. Sooooo picture it !!!!!!!! A school teacher mother, that the entire town knew, there was only one High School, so there was no other choice , Hahahahahaha, me in a tiny town, nothing to do other than drink, get high and sex. That was the norm for straight people. To be Gay there at the time was forbidden. My mother was Homophobic, so I had to wait and see what good straight boy after having a few beers would get frisky with me to get some action, but the next day they did not know me 🤔 Hahahaha not making it up. Anyway,,,, going back to God. I prayed to get out of my town. Prayed to learn languages, prayed to move to the mainland, prayed to work or the airlines, travel the world, meet new people from different cultures and customs. etc, etc, I got every single wish granted. Today I am retired from the airlines, but still have travel benefits until the day I die. Since little was poor and was never my wish to become a wealthy person. Working for the airlines and become wealthy, Noooooo, I knew that from the start, but I am an accomplished person. Grateful, humble, genuine and share my life and experiences with the world, because every time I do so, I know for a fact that at least one person will benefit out of my writing. As a matter fact, that was my commitment to God for taking care of me always, for granting every single request. After I was kind of burnt out of traveling, one day he said; "Arnaldo, now is paid back time. Everything you asked, you got. Now I want you to help others in any way you can. He mentioned; you are the person you are now from having the strength, the courage, believing in yourself and have grown to be something else. Share that with others, do it with Pride, do it with joy, do it naturally without worrying what might happen to you. I got you covered." That is the reason why when I read this post, felt the need to comment and became like a written script of a Soap Opera. It had a purpose, was not a coincidence. Really, really hope that someone might grab a tiny piece of what I just wrote and use it as an inspiration, a motivation, or even as a reminder. **** If you know who you are, know what you want, know that you have it in you to make it work, do it!
