Just what I needed for a service call: clear, concise, and to the point. Another video on this topic seemed to gloss over things, but you covered each step, which I appreciate.
Heads up: the side guards can be a pain to wrestle, and the black plastic cord cover needs to have a specific orientation.

At 4:10 it shows just pulling the back panel off which isn't the case for the 402 I just serviced. It's connected to a black plastic assembly along the bottom that needs to be unhooked from the printer first. Flip the printer onto it's front and unclip it at the bottom center, then the two pieces flip toward you and up. This video was really confusing until I figured that out.

I just like the ones where everything comes out the front or side, no disassembly required!

Somebody at HP needs a good, old fashion trip to the wood shed for designing those covers like that.

Great video but it's missing some huge points - the one I will mention is that when you place the fuser back in, on the bottom left there is a gray plastic protrusion and on the printer there is a gray lever. They MUST line up or you'll get paper jams. Most of this video you can watch without commentary, but how that gets glossed over is a bit frustrating. When I watched this for the first time, I knew that handle was important so I stopped immediately to find out what it did. But thanks for making a video.

Thanks, looking at getting a new fuser for this model of printer and HP is no help at all re: guides at replacing the fuser. Of course we may just end up purchasing a new printer, depends on the cost of parts vs a new one, as always

I have a HP M402n that is giving me a "Jam in Cartridge Area open door and clear jam" after some searching online some people were saying unplug it and turn it upside down oddly enough to clear the message. That works occasionally, then after I try to print the paper gets stuck in the exact same spot and I'm back to the error message. I have tried a new cartridge and it also did nothing. The printer is fairly new, everything inside is in almost new condition. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like you probably lost a spring on a sensor. When u flip the machine over u are allowing the sensor arm to return to home (the spring should be returning it to home position)

there should be a blue plastic release tang on the right side of the roller - left side just sticks into a black plastic holder

I see you removing parts and then putting them back in.....are these new parts or the same old parts? There is no explanation as to what your doing. Also, giving the part name as your removing/replacing them would have been more helpful.
