Sword Dance Traunstein / Schwerttanz Traunstein

Feature Bayerischer Rundfunk: Each Easter Monday thousands of spectators flock to the town to watch the "Georgiritt - St. Georges Parade − a custom which can be traced back to 1492. Hundreds of beautifully decorated horses, wagons and carriages accompanied by people in traditional costume and bands playing music process up to the Ettendorf church. The famous sword dance also associated with the "Georgiritt is performed on the town square.

Traditionell am Ostermontag findet in Traunstein der Beitrag Bayerischer Rundfunk: Georgiritt (Osterritt) statt. Zu dem Osterbrauch versammeln sich die Teilnehmer in mittelalterlichen Kostümen zu dem Wallfahrtsritt hinauf zum Ettendorfer Kircherl. Abschluss des Georgiritts ist der historische Schwerttanz auf dem Stadtplatz.
