One of my favorite things in the world is finding a brand new youtube channel and seeing a video of absolute quality
I agree😊
Absolutely! The time and thorough research for this must have been very big, also getting all that footage and the assembly!
Fantastic Job!
yea fr
The production quality of this video is simply OUTSTANDING!
I looked on the left to see what BIG channel this was... and 2.47k subscribers?!
Dude, you will be famous one day! Such brilliant quality is impossible to stay hidden!
Thank you for these wonderful 24 minutes!
This IS the the best Ghibli related documentary I've ever seen...the number of subs and views means nothing...the content does

This was absolutely a treasure! I am so excited to see what else you’ve done and will do! My favorite Ghibli movie of all time and the first one I actually got to see when it released in American theaters! Thank you! ❤
Why this video does not have milion views yet? It is such good quality with meticulous research. I love it! Have to share it with all my friends who like ghibli films :)

it's amazing! I live in an area near Studio Ghibli in Tokyo. I am very grateful to you for being so well acquainted with Professor Miyazaki's spirit and for traveling around Japan to conduct research based on that knowledge.
Beautiful short doc. The CZcams algorithm blessed me with a real gem this evening
Woken up by my 91-year old mother at 4 in the morning and couldn't sleep again, this video found me. It is quiet and calm, showing me around in places in Japan and guide me through the story of Spirited Away.
The editing and cinematography are absolutely off the charts. Better yet, I absolutely appreciate the historical deep dives into Japanese culture, folklore, and history. The quality present is absolutely top tier. I would expect this on major broadcasting channels. Is there a works cited page that lists the resources for yokai, history, Miyazaki quotes, etc?
Happily subbed and excited to see more!
Appreciate your feedback! Will work on adding some sources for you!
This video made me like and appreciate Spirited Away even more! I thought this channel would have millions of subs based on the quality and respectful insightfulness, but it’s a new channel… which makes it like finding one of the many Japanese gems found in this video. ❤
Insanely high quality video and was very surprised to see that it's your first video. Can't wait to see more content from you
Thank you! More where that came from.
Well done. A masterpiece. The next time I watch spirited away, I will see it completely anew. Thanks and bravo for such a well done documentary.
Excellent work, hope this blows up because it is a gripping watch even for casual Ghibli fans.
Ghibli is one of the most beautiful human things I've known. Spirited Away helped me in a time I felt lost. Seeing this was both amazing and uplifting. Thank you truly. It's the first time I feel I finally understand this movie.
This is simply incredible and with a profound teaching.
Beautifully done!
Excellent documentary! - Keep producing more if you can.
I’ve never watched such a coherent, incredible and respectful video about Spirited Away and Japan before. Thank you so much!!
Thanks for this beautiful deep dive into Japanese Culture and the world of Ghibli...We're looking forward to more of your content.
I was browsing youtube and came across this video and you know after 10 mins i has to subscribe. The quality is so good, I even said to my fiancee this is bettee than any of the BBC/ ITV production. I really think your effort and editing is being praised by all the viewers and rightly so. I look forward to seeing this channel grow, it deserves it. Me and my fiancee went Japan back in Nov 23 and we miss it terribly. You really went in so much depth with this. Love it.❤
Thank you very much! I really appreciate your kind feedback :)
As anime fan since before Akira, yeah I am seriously old, and of course Miyazaki/Studio Ghibli, I found this a great analysis of Spirited Away. All that research for a concise, watchable, and well-crafted video was amazing. Looking forward to future works.
Likewise, though for me it was Bebop, GitS, and Revolutionary Girl Utena. Instant subscribe and like and looking forward to more captivating videos
Is amazing, Hayao Miyazaki shows us a little of the culture in Japan, the landscapes and the thoughts about like the humanity generate negative changes in this, i hope someday have the opportunity to see Japan
Thank you for this amazing work. The film Spirited Away has great significant meanings to me since I was a young girl. The end of this video really touched me and reminded me of why I love this film so much. ❤
This video was what we all needed. Thank you so much! I cannot wait to visit in November.
Very strong first video! Well researched, well paced with great value!
Looking forward to see more!
Amazing work on this! Watching this brought back the same feelings I had when I first watched Spirited Away. Thank you!
I could watch a six hour version of this video without blinking! Great content, wonderfully produced, congratulations.
I did not have top-quality documentary from a tiny new channel on my bingo card for tonight, but here it is. HOLY MOLY, this is a tasty meatball!
In all seriousness and at least half in jest, I love this. I unironically love this. It brings me to tears about how deep you dive. I love this takeaway from the movie, and I hope Miyazaki has a chance to see this documentary. It's so good.
Instant subscription, great to see a fellow cinematographer doing such amazing stuff
thank you brother for this documentary thank you thank you thank you thank you thank you
And so with the great universe and its ever present synchronicities, I was meant to see this in this exact moment of time.
Thank you for making such an amazing documentary about the locations and significances of this film.
Hayao Miyazaki san is a very humble and passionate guy
This is the kind of documentary I imagine I would have made about Spirited Away. Excellent work, thank you!
This is incredibly done, I was expecting such a high quality documentary style.
Wow, that was great! You guys did an amazing job! Everything was done so well and was so moving. So well thought out, shot, and edited, and those cinematic shots are gorgeous. The history and research that went in is so well done. Can't wait to see if you have anything else in store.

I'm spirited away
clicked this video just to run in background, ended up watching the whole video, awesome work dude!!!
An inspiring documentary. Thank you. I have watched many video essays on Spirited Away but none as insightful and beautifully crafted as this. Miyazaki would be proud. I look forward to more documentaries exploring Ghibli films or Japanese culture and folklore. You have a rare talent for this.
I screamed a little when he said he was nervous because The Miyazaki looked out of the window when he was filming! Like what an OMG moment! What an amazing process and work this video is!
This was SO well done, thank you!!
I couldnt stop watching. So much of Japan is now pastiche. This video inspires me to visit Japan for the right reasons. Write a Ghibli tourism book please!!😅
Outstanding, quality stuff. because of you, I'm off to Japan ... again 😂.
Thank you
Wonderful work here. Beautifully shot and paced, really enjoyed it. Subscribed!
WoooW. This documentary is a masterpiece just like Spirited Away. Thank You!
This is an absolutely superlative video. Great work sir!
Thank you for this loving take on Spirited Away and Miyazaki. Ending on the equanimity of Chihiro wraps things up nicely. I see that as the zen influence on the story, something I hadnt really appreciated well enough until your video. Thank you. Am going to watch Spirited Away yet again!
This is absolutely amazing. I loved your analysis and all the context you brought to explain everything. The cinematography was stunning, It was really emotional seeing all the parallels between the story and real life events. This is great content, I hope you keep doing more videos like this. Good job
This is an absolutely excellent piece that does justice to one of the most transcendent works of animation. The in-depth research, the care in the footage and edit-the love of the team shows in every cut. Thank you for this!

@@user-st6lm8mr2p Thanks! Yes the festival was quite hard to get to tbh. A 7 hour bus, then a 2 hour bus, then a taxi ride. Then back the next day 😅
This is amazing! About to start it again!!

Wonderful and good quality Documentary! Happy to be your 1k subscriber! 🌞
YT did a great job recommending your video.
Excellent story telling, deep research and execution. And such a huge relief from the usual Japan content that simply involves blabbering on the subject without any research. I am so glad I found this channel and you’ve earned a new subscriber. Hoping to see more excellent stories. All the best!
This being a first video is unreal!! Amazing video I loved it a lot, keep it up!! Great filming and shots as well!!

🎉Algorithm gods... promote this vieeo 🎉🎉🎉🎉
I encourage everyone go to the Edo Tokyo open air museum. It's awesome, and easy to get to. I spent a whole day there and loved it. It also knows how important it is to Miyazaki's aesthetic, and makes note of that in the literature.
This production is AMAZING!! Thank you for this meaningful script and great visuals that matches the mood. I wishyou to hit your first million subscribers in a year!
What a great video. Thank you.
also this last trip to japan to Hiroshima museum. i understand he makes films for the children who survived. he always has a main character child. often a little girl who must learn to navigate life without parents. I recall he regretted as a child that his family did not help a mom and daughter they came across on the road. his stories are always full of lightness wonder and joy of discovery made with love for the children of japan. 🌸💚🌸💚🌸
Wow, well-done video! THANK YOU for your in-depth analysis and recording. I’m saving this and sharing.
