I regret going to college. It was a huge waste of my time when I could have been in LA establishing myself, especially because I have a disability and I had so many issues, it took me 9 years to graduate. THAT BEING SAID, if I was told I’m getting cut off, I go to college for drama and problem solved. 🤣

Dakota seems to think her father was wrong in cutting her off. More celebrity parents should do that so they don't grow up entitled.
It was kinda trash not supporting his child’s dream.
+ROD he wanted her to have a college education and be ‘normal’, not wrong to do. But we know how brutal the acting industry is. However Dakota is talented and has thrived.
Meanwhile she got her father back by starring in 50 shades of Grey as her breakout role.

Hmm. Her own parents have made mistakes too. Ya got wonder what Don told her when she is dating cause um her Dad dated her mom first time when she was like 15 and married her at 18 i think and remarried her later on lol. Both parents went into acting
Her dad was also dating his costar on Nash Bridges, he ain’t no one to talk. I think Don wanted better for Dakota than the acting world which can be a cesspool. In a lot of ways those experiences teach a younger person to be more responsible and perhaps Dakota had to go through those experiences to work harder. She’s definitely on her way to being a great actress. I enjoy watching even when her script is terrible as in the case of 50 shades.

O please !!! I hate when people who have wealthy parents claim that they only had 47 dollars I. Their account. She has her mother to ask if she really need help. And we all know her mother is loaded
I think it’s more dad paid child support and was happy to keep giving Dakota an allowance because he wanted her to stay in education and have a ‘normal’ life, so when she told him she wasn’t going to college and was pursuing acting instead, he told her that she wouldn’t stay on HIS payroll if so. We all know mum is not poor and until she moved out she was still relying on mum. Dakota never claimed she was on 50 dollars, she comes from old money.

She’s not self made, even though her father cut her off, she has benefitted from being grand-daughter/daughter of, the doors for her were open for her easier than for someone who started at ground zero, she went into the industry with people already knowing who she was, getting an agent was prob easier than someone with zero connections, I’m pretty sure one of her agents or pr person was the same as one of her parents, So no she’s not self made (ex. Gwyneth Paltrow, Kate Hudson, Kylie Jenner and countless others). Her dreams of being a well known actress were more attainable than for someone that starts out with nothing, and that’s the thing she didn’t start at nothing. Both her dad and stepdad are self made but neither her nor her mom are self made.

@@Charlierose214 “Privilege” doesn’t always work favourably. I highly doubt she find it easy because of who she is, probably the industry gave her a hard time exactly because of that. Her career development proves it, she didn’t land a role until she was 21 and she appeared literally for 1 min in that film. If she had it easy she would have been way earlier known and act from a young age like Dakota Fanning, Olsen twins etc
