- Hozier trying to read poems during his TikTok Live (17 March 2021) while mischievous viewers kept (throwing shades) sending him sunglasses stickers. Somehow I don't think we're getting another Live on TikTok of all places.
I would've loved to upload the whole stream and not just these (funny yet rather disrespectful) moments but I kept getting server errors and this is all I could salvage.

He was so annoyed, I felt so bad for him. It was really disrespectful of people to keep on horsing around like that when he was reading a serious poem about Dublin. The first time was maybe a little funny but the rest was excessive and awfully childish and disrespectful. People need to learn when to let go of a "joke" before it gets too much.

He was annoyed but so chill about it, I did think it was hilarious 😂 Maybe there’s a way for him to disable that feature for next time. Or maybe he’ll just do it on Instagram next time 😉
If he ever chooses to read to us again, I'm really hoping for Instagram Live too! This was... however accidentally funny, it was also rather unfortunate and unfair to him (both the stickers and the connection issues most of us seemed to experience).

hey y'all I'm a bit late to this but... this isn't something the viewers were doing, that's not a feature on tiktok. I'm pretty sure he accidentally had a filter preset when he started the live, because there's an effects section and you can add filters (the sunglasses). They didn't show up most of the time because his face wasn't fully facing the camera and even when he was, glasses mess up filters and with the glare it makes it harder for the app to detect a face. It wasn't viewers putting them on him, just an accidental filter

No it wasn't a filter preset, apparently viewers could pay a small fee to drop sunglasses or almost worse-- the kissy face things onto him. There was a girl on twitter who said she was responsible for one or two of them. That was the first (and last) time he'll ever use tiktok as a live I cpromise you. I was cringing for him having to endure it ruining his reading while simultaneously laughing for the juxtaposition of poetry being read on an app screen that was vomiting up messages and sparkles and icons like a japanese video arcade game. The poor man, hahaha. Awful. (but funny as you can see). Too bad he'll never read poetry again live; tiktok soundly killed that urge in him.

Could you plz upload the full live?
I'd love to be able to do that but the whole stream was incredibly laggy and I was getting one server error after another (all of them completely cutting the stream off). This is pretty much all I managed to salvage. If nobody else uploads the full Live in the next few days, I can try to somehow... cut around the errors and upload what remains of it?
