chris was using ryu before anyone even knew who ray ray was. his original ultimate team included firebrand and ryu.

chris G actually still uses him alot, he just beat rayray not to long ago at the grand finals of summer jam 7 using his ryu team so I guess its not really his vanilla team

Not often and usually against nobodies he knows he can beat. You won't see Ryu against Justin Wong at a major, vast majority of the time (I accept he might do it for the lulz).
You bring up ChrisG as if he mains Ryu, which isn't true, he just uses him. RayRay mains Ryu and I can't think of many matches he doesn't use him in. So, in my eyes he's the only Ryu player. I play Viper in Marvel sometimes, but people don't call me a Viper player, they call me a Vergil player because that's who I play.
