I was seriously blown away by this, it gave me hope that clear heads could prevail. This was a better monologue than I've seen on the state of things, and without relying on conjecture. The real question is: will the 30% of Americans who are brainwashed wake up?

In my opinion the best in making a conversation with his guests, setting them in the centre of attention by the right questions or remarks, or by just listening. He had some legendary conversations with some legendary guests.

The irony of the man predicting Osama Bin Laden being up to something dying two weeks later in the World Trade Center tragedy on 911 takes my breath away. I am seeing this clip/episode for the first time tonight and declare it to be my favorite. The ideas, the standards, the morals reflected pull me up to be my best, as a member of a bigger picture. I miss the real [news] drama of the show --- and the "back stage" scenes of how a newsroom might just work together.
But, in my opinion, what brought the show down after only 3 seasons was the over-abundance of *personal romances* and too much [positive] religion and smoking in it.
Penboy as 'god' or there was only person writing for the entire cast and couldn't do it anymore
Someone wave a magic wand and bring back the ultimate show: a world where Sports Night and Newsroom are two shows for the same network in the same building.

That was an incredible interview with Mr. Daniels. After watching that cringe worthy interview with Omarosa last night it was so nice to hear an intelligent, thoughtful, insightful guest like Jeff Daniels. I hope that he is right in that the good, honest, patriotic Americans doing their jobs in the FBI will eventually catch trump and his minions up in their lies and felonious behavior and we can hopefully start to rebuild our country and maybe begin to be respected and not laughed at globally.

Refreshing to hear that I'm not the only one who has had trouble sleeping from keeping up with the news.
I had to stop looking at Facebook, I skip news for a week, I only watch news on the evening comedy shows ... it was overwhelming. I wanted to sit in the corner of the closet with my grandma's handmade quilt over my head. The two worst surprises were how fast things can change and second, how silent a whole party can stay protecting party and money over country and citizens. I had no idea our country and government were so fragile.

Because once this present does all the damage he can to America we will need you all to defend us. I know the president has lessened you in the media and stated that you are our enemy we the people know this is not true. I understand how hard is it to do your job when you are being hate for doing it but like a good parent you must or America will fall and our enemies will win. In time this man will be out of office and we can start to rebuild and it will rise once again in all it’s glory because the people are what makes America great no matter how hard a dictator try’s to tell you otherwise. The way he unfolded everything, contextualized his show, and tied everything up with the overall theme - "Listen to me, Shit is going to go Down" - made for a genius presentation.
I watched this interview a few months before I watched the show. Then I watch the show. Then I watched this interview again and when he said, "Best review I've ever got." I teared up.
he really has a gravitas to him when he speaks on serious topics that makes you sit up and listen. loved it on the newsroom, nice to see he's the same way in real life.
