    Forget about the calories and dig in!! Montana can be a bit of a food desert, especially in the really rural areas, but the cities have amazing food. Micro breweries are everywhere. Don't forget to have a trout dinner!!

    I grew up in a cattle ranch on the border between ND and Montana. I can honestly say through many trials that the only way to eat calf ballz is fresh out of the animal and cooked in the branding fire with a little salt and pepper and beer chaser! All the breading and other concoctions only take away from the true flavor

    Ah. Pasties. Mmm, mmm. My very first was in Missoula, MT. Have you guys ever visited Cornwall, England? I love that Cornish miners introduced pasties to the U.S. in the 19th century. I've had pasties in Michigan, California, Pennsylvania... and even in Mexico City. Same migration. Cornish miners flocked to Hidalgo, Mexico for silver mining in the 1800s. Very cool I think. (BTW, it's PASS-tees. PAY-stees are, well, another thing. 😂)

    Chicken fried steaks are the best. Black Bear Diner gives you a huge portion. The bison is to die for.

    You got flathead cherries? Damn I can never get my hands on those and I've been just south of the line for 11 years😩. Everytime I find them they're sold out😣. I've always been told they're the best but I've yet to get any, always last on the drawl I guess.

    • @rhiahlMT
      @rhiahlMT Před rokem

      They are good, not as good as Rainier cherries though. I was getting flathead cherries pretty cheap at WinCo in Helena 2 weeks ago. As usual, the Rainer cherries were 4x the price of the Rainiers.
