Normally other youtubers do a video of adding a fish,upgrading the tank,moving fries to separate tank but Troy u included So much of stuff in one video i enjoyed every part of it...i think among all the cichlid brothers u have the most diverse variety of fishes.👍
That 150 really is a beautiful tank. Wow kinda surprised you've got blue acara baby's already. I've always loved blue acara's they are a peaceful fish except when there guarding there fry. I really love your selection of fish in you're tank. That Albino hekulei is one of my all time favorites. Well i enjoyed it. Thanks bro.
Looking real good Troy finally got my 180 Custom Aquarium setup and running about 2 weeks ago and already have Severum's breeding in my new tank. Now the tank is big enough where all my other fish are not getting pushed in the corner of my 75 gallon they were in previously. I would love to buy some of those Baby Blue Acara's when ever your ready to rehome some. Keep up the great you and your brothers are doing!

@@CichlidBros you guys are the readon I'm looking at a tank wright now, I'm thinking about a Fluval Siena 330 aquarium and then stalking it with silver dollars and geophagus, sand bottom, wood and rock with anubis plants. Would this set-up work with the dimensions of this thank? The tank is around 87 gallon
Be careful saving babies, the same thing happened to me. I ended up with 7 tanks, 4 full of babies, then raising them to a sellable size. Then I was running back and forth to my local pet store, 45 minutes away to bring the fish. I was breeding Frontosa, Julie’s, Calvus and Dolphins. Good luck.

The thing that I love of the Denison Barbs is that they look very much like the Siamese Algae Eaters but they swim in the flow, I think that a good school of Cardinal Tetras will be the best in this beautiful tank, will you add some Echinodorus and a female for your Apistogramma?
Looks really good! You should get some Whiptail Catfish to help with the algae in there too. Did you consider the Red Tailed Hemiodus rather than the Rose Line Sharks? Would have meant they are all South American fish that way.
Thank you! I considered a lot of schooling fish, but have really wanted to find a way to keep roselines. Although they aren't South American, they are very compatible with peaceful American cichlids, so thought it went well!
@@CichlidBros my next tank is a total change for me too - focusing on harder water fish but no where near each other. So smaller Central Americans, Rainbowfish and Synodontis from Lake Tanganyka. Calling it a disco tank because everything should be a bold colour.
I have blue acaras (not electric), rainbow cichlids and meeki. Do you think silver molly would survive in this tank? It's 666 liters with a lot of rocks and wood in it. P.S. my apistoramma kakatuides isn't doing really good, it's hiding a lot. I guess from blue acaras.

Did u intentionally put the snails in or did they sneak off of the plants? I've had pest snails Sneak off of Java fern and water lettuce. Had to take down my guppy tank it got so bad. I've made a habit of visually inspecting any plants I get from then. Question tho, what schooling fish would u suggest for a tank of larger ish (I say ish because they're large. Jack Dempsey, Gold Saum, Oscar) all of which are good with goldfish but want something that schools that won't become 12 inch oscar food. This oscar won't attack a goldfish bigger than 3 inches but happily mows down 6 - 7 inch minnow
They were intentional. Nerite snails are easier to control. I’ve had that issue in other tanks though. My recommendation would be silver dollars for large schooling fish
question, do all electric blue acaras have sunken belly? cause i have two, they look like they are doing fine? but the bellies look sunken, and i look at some online and in your tank, and they look like they have sunken belly, i just wanna know if all acaras just look like they have sunken belly, or do acaras just het it easier then other cichlids lol

Thanks for watching! I've found that they're pretty aggressive towards each other. So I wouldn't always recommend them together. EBA males will usually have a longer pointed dorsal fine than the females, although it can be tough to see

@@CichlidBros you guys are the readon I'm looking at a tank wright now, I'm thinking about a Fluval Siena 330 aquarium and then stalking it with silver dollars and geophagus, sand bottom, wood and rock with anubis plants. Would this set-up work with the dimensions of this thank? The tank is around 87 gallon
Troy, When I remove babies from a tank, I just use a siphon hose to vacuum them out. Works fine and easy on the fish and parents.

Be careful saving babies, the same thing happened to me. I ended up with 7 tanks, 4 full of babies, then raising them to a sellable size. Then I was running back and forth to my local pet store, 45 minutes away to bring the fish. I was breeding Frontosa, Julie’s, Calvus and Dolphins. Good luck.

Had denison barbs a good while with my biggest at 7 inches, they prefer to be at the mid to bottom levels typically.

That tank looks amazing, congrats! How do you keep your sand so white with all those cichlids? My white sand has been turning brown on top, but I have been cleaning my tank quick frequently? Going to change the landscape to more open. Love your videos, keep up the great work.
Thank you! Good flow/filtration are key, and the Geophagus sifting through the sand helps a lot too

Thank you! I’d recommend a small group of geos and then maybe 1-2 severums. Maybe only 1 Firemouth for aggression control

The thing that I love of the Denison Barbs is that they look very much like the Siamese Algae Eaters but they swim in the flow, I think that a good school of Cardinal Tetras will be the best in this beautiful tank, will you add some Echinodorus and a female for your Apistogramma?

Looks really good! You should get some Whiptail Catfish to help with the algae in there too. Did you consider the Red Tailed Hemiodus rather than the Rose Line Sharks? Would have meant they are all South American fish that way.
Thank you! I considered a lot of schooling fish, but have really wanted to find a way to keep roselines. Although they aren't South American, they are very compatible with peaceful American cichlids, so thought it went well!

@@CichlidBros my next tank is a total change for me too - focusing on harder water fish but no where near each other. So smaller Central Americans, Rainbowfish and Synodontis from Lake Tanganyka. Calling it a disco tank because everything should be a bold colour.
I have blue acaras (not electric), rainbow cichlids and meeki. Do you think silver molly would survive in this tank? It's 666 liters with a lot of rocks and wood in it. P.S. my apistoramma kakatuides isn't doing really good, it's hiding a lot. I guess from blue acaras.

Did u intentionally put the snails in or did they sneak off of the plants? I've had pest snails Sneak off of Java fern and water lettuce. Had to take down my guppy tank it got so bad.
I've made a habit of visually inspecting any plants I get from then.
Question tho, what schooling fish would u suggest for a tank of larger ish (I say ish because they're large. Jack Dempsey, Gold Saum, Oscar) all of which are good with goldfish but want something that schools that won't become 12 inch oscar food. This oscar won't attack a goldfish bigger than 3 inches but happily mows down 6 - 7 inch minnow
They were intentional. Nerite snails are easier to control. I’ve had that issue in other tanks though. My recommendation would be silver dollars for large schooling fish
When you do the water change home much? Do you suction the sand? Do you add anything with the new water?
About 30% every few weeks. Don’t need to with Geos in the tank and good flow. Just Seachem prime

question, do all electric blue acaras have sunken belly? cause i have two, they look like they are doing fine? but the bellies look sunken, and i look at some online and in your tank, and they look like they have sunken belly, i just wanna know if all acaras just look like they have sunken belly, or do acaras just het it easier then other cichlids lol
One of mine may have a bit of a sunken belly but the rest are healthy and doing fine. Its normal for acaras to have a slight dip

Thanks for watching! I've found that they're pretty aggressive towards each other. So I wouldn't always recommend them together. EBA males will usually have a longer pointed dorsal fine than the females, although it can be tough to see

25% once per month on this tank due to the plants. More frequent on my other cichlid tanks
