Starting from Panipat, Rohit Nandwani's Hammer Lifestyle declined Aman Gupta's 40% stake offer for 1 crore on Shark Tank India. Despite bootstrapping, they amassed 10 lakh customers and 5 crore monthly revenue, surpassing Boat. They anticipate closing FY24 with 60 crore revenue, competing from Panipat.
The founder of our next startup hails from Faridabad, Haryana's largest city. Nitesh Singh and Sunil Chandra Saha established Blue Tea there to leverage its Delhi-NCR location for market access and infrastructure. Their flagship herbal tea, Blue Tea, offers a non-bitter, caffeine-free alternative to Green tea. Despite securing interest from Shark Tank India, Blue Tea remains bootstrapped, boasting 8.5 lakh customers and a 16X revenue growth, with a monthly revenue run rate of 5 crore rupees.
The next startup founder I spoke with not only launched his company in Faridabad but also purchased a residence there, captivated by the city. Arunabh Sinha, after observing the laundromat trend in Southeast Asia, initiated UClean with his wife Gunjan Taneja in 2017. They've expanded to over 500 franchise-operated stores nationwide, achieving 156 crore rupees revenue in FY24. Arunabh envisions growing UClean into a 1000-crore revenue business by 2027.
The upcoming startup from Faridabad, BluePine Foods, offers frozen Himalayan delicacies. Aditi Madan, Darjeeling native, yearned for authentic momos, prompting her to co-found BluePine Foods in 2016 with Rohan Singh and Naveen Panwar. They extended their line to include various Himalayan dishes, launching the QSR brand Yangkiez by Momo Mami in 2018. After securing a deal on Shark Tank India, BluePine Foods, renowned for its 35+ Himalayan food varieties, has become a nationally recognized brand with outlets nationwide.
Winston, a Faridabad-based personal grooming brand, emerged when Himanshu and Nikita Adlakha sold hair trimmers via Instagram in 2021, garnering 5,000 sales before website inception. By Shark Tank India's season 2, they'd achieved 1.2 crore rupees in FY22 sales, securing a 1 crore investment for 10% equity. Post-show, revenue surged to 11.5 crore rupees in FY24, targeting 15 crore rupees. With a 15X growth since Shark Tank, they now offer a range from hair trimmers to electric toothbrushes.
The founder of the next startup, hailing from a village without electricity, overcame adversity to establish Loom Solar in Faridabad. Amol Anand's journey from supporting his family to building a solar energy company illuminating over 50,000 households exemplifies resilience. Loom Solar, founded in 2018 with his brother Amod Anand, swiftly became Amazon India's fastest-growing SMB brand, selling solar panels and Lithium-ion batteries worth 100 crore rupees in FY23.
Faridabad's Mister Veg, founded in 2018 by Simarjeet Singh and Rupinder Singh, specializes in plant-based meat alternatives. Offering cruelty-free options, they boast being India's first plant-based fish pomfret producer. With a $570,000 investment from Jubilant Ingrevia in 2021, they expanded offline, opening their inaugural restaurant in 2022. Currently operating 6 outlets nationwide, they aim to reach over 100 outlets by 2025.
The last Faridabad-based startup featured is Clapjoy Innovations, established in 2021 by Sandeep Mangla and Neha Aggarwal. Specializing in educational games and toys for children, they achieved a monthly revenue of 60 lakh rupees through major e-commerce platforms and their website. In 2023, DOMS Industries acquired a 30% stake, facilitating expansion through their extensive distribution network both domestically and internationally.
Founded in 2021 in Ambala by Sourabh and Rhythm Bhardwaj, Riyo Herbs emerged from Rhythm's personal quest for quality skincare, spending 10,000 to 15,000 monthly on imported products. Partnering with a manufacturer, they invested 10 lakh rupees to launch with four products, rigorously testing each before market release. Now boasting over 70 SKUs, Riyo Herbs achieved 3.4 crore rupees in revenue within their inaugural year.
The concluding startup is Green Loom, headquartered in Panchkula. Seeza Bhardwaj, a new mother in 2018, sought natural skincare solutions but found only pricey chemical-laden options. Collaborating with a friend running a natural cosmetics factory, she launched Green Loom in July 2018. Despite her partner's departure shortly after, Seeza persevered. Green Loom now offers over 31 skincare products, generating monthly revenues of 3-4 lakh rupees.
