As good as it gets really. And a big ingredient of the brew that helped young Australians survive the disco madness. Thanks boys. Was a pleasure to meet you Doc.
i went and saw them also in february, they were brilliant, firs saw them at schoool in '75 when they were the keystone angels, took my 14 year old lad and he loved it, seeing them again in 5 weeks at the gov here in adelaide.........cant wait!
The most unassuming lead guitarist on the planet..........with tone, feel and melody. With a hint of arrogance......What a talent... If only i new his name!
l was 8 years of age when l first heard the Angels on Countdown. That sound hit me BIG TIME.The Angels are one of the greatest Australian Bands Ever.l bumped into John Brewster at the Club Hotel in Bairnsdale 2004.He was so nice and down to Earth. The Brewster Brothers-LEGENDS.
How I miss the days at the Bankstown Sports club and the Banky RSL.....watching these guys.........Music at its very best.......especially with a few JD"S under the belt.
Saw them at the Stagedoor Tavern in Sydney about 1978/79 and the were powerful, loud and the place went off. Drank 3 beers between the bar and the exit when it was over, such was the crush. Doc was a frontman who rocked.......good times....
They deserve a lot more success and recognition than they got. Narara '83 or 84'...I cant remember which year, but they were rockin as good as any band on earth..!!!
Ok I'm seven moths late on finding this out being an American. This is very sad news for me. RIP Mr. Neeson. I'm actually quite upset just learning about this now. The Angels never really hit it big in The State (they had to be called Angel City for legal reasons for what ever reason) but I remember first hearing "No Secrets" on the radio here. When I finally got to go to Australia in 1987 I had the opportunity to see them live and also discovered many other Australians bands that I was never exposed to in my couture (like Paul Kelley). I love The Angels and this is very sad for me to learn of.
Merci for the post dude!.....LOVE THIS BAND>>>>They were big with my crowd in Canada for a couple years then disappeared.........Much to my disappointment.........Cheers
Had the pleasure and privilige of playing in a support band for the "original Angels a few years ago in N.Q. Brilliant bunch of guys. The band then was Brewster,Brewster,Bidstrup and Bailey.
According to the end of the video, it was (c) 1999, so I presume it was recorded then. Great that they are back together and performing again. I remember their early days in the 70s: energy, power!
hey the me and my dad went and saw the angels a couple of months back when they were doing i think it was their national tour. we saw them in inferno in traralgon (country vic). dad went off!
R.I.P Doc...you have a loving family thanks to your son to get you to hospital to see what was wrong with you... your life ended too soon I would have like to see perform one more time but that was not the case so sad you had to leave us.
Ya Murdock ... I knew yu loved this Song!!! Yur Rite Archie . Vex -- Strawberry , raspberry on ice !! Also Diesel -- Sausilito Summer ..... Another Archie Song !!
I was at a live Angels concert in Sydney in the early 90's when at the end of the concert the band Cheap Trick came onstage and performed its a long way to the top if you wanna rock 'n' roll with the Angels. It was awesome. Does anyone know about this or were they at the same concert. I have more on this event Also does any one have footage of this. They actually made a video out of this concert but for some reason the cheap trick duet was not in the video.
@@ray.shoesmith Hi, yep, that was at the Holden, I was at both gigs and I also got a Rick Nielsen pick but lost it later on. I think the angel's were at their best at this stage.
Translation: "Good evening Ladies and Gentlemen. Would you all like to come for a walk tonight with me? ooh ahh x 20.. Ah very good you are all my friends. I adore you..." Much the same as way back at the Narrara gig. It hasn't changed much.
I bought their 1st album when it came out, then it got scratched,so I had to get rid of it.Came across the cd at Hasting's about a month ago and it was only $3.99..Still love it like it was the first time. Are they still touring??
@Natty0cat Now the band has split in 2 and they are fighting with each other.Doc and one guitarist in one band and the Brewster brothers and drummer in another....ahhhhhhhh showbiz!:)
@docneesen Oh my goodness YES... just waiting for them to pop up in the JJJ hottest 100 albums of all time... Surely they must be in there...Come on!!! :-)
I grew up in Australia in the 80s the Angels rocked awesome live and great driving music. RIP Doc Neeson.
As good as it gets really. And a big ingredient of the brew that helped young Australians survive the disco madness. Thanks boys. Was a pleasure to meet you Doc.
The Angels were brilliant and Doc was a genius. RIP mate, you will not be forgotten.
the sound track of my youth.......what a great aussie band.
RIP Doc..gone but NEVER forgotten
This song rocks.. used to compare them to ACDC, ....but listening to this song again, I think they are better
Lots of bands we know for some reason didn't do it, being from Canada and hearing these guys 30 years ago as Angel City blew me away. Rock on!
Man this song shreds. Some of the coolest riffs came out of the late 70's/early 80's.Love it!!!
i went and saw them also in february, they were brilliant, firs saw them at schoool in '75 when they were the keystone angels, took my 14 year old lad and he loved it, seeing them again in 5 weeks at the gov here in adelaide.........cant wait!
Got to see them open up for triumph in 1985 what a show
The most unassuming lead guitarist on the planet..........with tone, feel and melody. With a hint of arrogance......What a talent... If only i new his name!

Saw them in Vancouver B.C. "82-"83 was one of my best concert experiences ever!
No doubt one of the best bands ever from Australia. Saw them live in 1984 and 2009. Fantastic.
How I miss the days at the Bankstown Sports club and the Banky RSL.....watching these guys.........Music at its very best.......especially with a few JD"S under the belt.

Was so fortunate to see these guys all those years ago. Missing persons was their opening act, was a great night!
Saw them at the Stagedoor Tavern in Sydney about 1978/79 and the were powerful, loud and the place went off. Drank 3 beers between the bar and the exit when it was over, such was the crush. Doc was a frontman who rocked.......good times....
Great R&R band.... long live aussie.... from an old froggie fan...
They deserve a lot more success and recognition than they got. Narara '83 or 84'...I cant remember which year, but they were rockin as good as any band on earth..!!!
It was '83. I've seen lots of live gigs over a few decades & The Angels at Narara would be in my top 5.
Awesome band. Saw them in San Francisco in the late 70's. Great concert!! Please come to the USA!!!
Yo I saw them in sf at the old Waldorf. Is that where you saw them too? Show kicked ass.
Great classic, instantly recognizable vocals! Rest Doc, your work on earth is done.

Was that at the Hordern? I still have one of Rick Nielsens guitar picks from that gig. Angels played support to Cheap Trick

Much the same as way back at the Narrara gig. It hasn't changed much.
Anyone hear any AC/DC here or is it just me? Doc, rocks, forever!!!
+Michael Meltzer I like 'em better than AC/DC, that's just my opinion though.
+Michael Meltzer Of course but these cats have more rhythm
They both use the Gibson SG guitar
I've had this record since it came out I guess probably in the 80s I think that's the first thing I heard when I played it is AC/DC
It's called aussie pub rock....they are from the same pubs Bon met the youngs
RIP
I bought their 1st album when it came out, then it got scratched,so I had to get rid of it.Came across the cd at Hasting's about a month ago and it was only $3.99..Still love it like it was the first time. Are they still touring??
