- Hello Everyone, back with a simple text effect.
In this tutorial, I'll show you how to make a 3D Layered Text Effect. This effect is non-editable but pretty easy to achieve.

I have tried and tried and tried but my after I click blend then make, my blend tool is greyed out. Any help?
Hey bro - any idea when, around 2:25, my "blue" text is a group not a compound path? It doesn't seem to matter but even when i follow this step by step like 5x in a row, it keeps showing as a group in appearance tab. Driving me insane

@@denzilfranklyn3034 I think you forgot to expand and unite the text. but if you do it and get the same result, just make the text compound path by Ctrl/cmd + 8 (object > compound path > make)
I tried and tried, but it did not work for me... I have problems with capital letters and with the letter "i"... since they get separated from the main text... and when I apply the blend option, a dark and black shadow is created behind the text... Also, I have noted that my text has single lines (paths), and yours has multiple anchor points... may be something about config...

You need to turn the text to object first by right click "create outlines". If you add stroke to make the text thicker, you need to expand it first and make sure stroke is check.

What version of illustrator do you use? Out of curiosity
Adobe Illustrator CC 2021, but this tutorial can be done with any cc version or cs6 version
@@nobudesign ah that's cool I have 2020 myself it's just that the grey background reminded me of older versions of illustrator so it threw me off lol 😂

cool,,but your text effects are not editable,,how can we change the text?
If you want editable text effect, you can done it with transform effect and appearance panel, but you end with hundreds of copies.
@@nobudesign please when you make new text effect tutorial,make sure it is editable,we all need editable text effects
Yes I know nondestructive effect is good, but sometime it's limit your option to do extra details, like add texture or mix colors.
