Alr so eggman made a world robotizer and to prevent it from firing on the planet, Sally redirected the beam onto herself and made herself mecha Sally. During this time sonic and Sally were dating. Now also during this time silver was looking for the traitor which will lead the future to destruction. After some help he found out it was Sally as she had no control over herself and sonic can't go full power on her as he still has feelings for her. Without silver, sonic and tails would have died by Sally.
I like how you can see both sides of the argument.
Sonic has every right to snap at silver because he wholeheartedly trusts his friends, but at the same time while silver is just making assumptions you can see he is trying to help save his world. Especially since he knows someone is going to betray them and destroy the world he knows he needs to keep on his toes.
On top of that mecha Sally was still recent at the time, so counting The Rabot he's down 3 whole friends. Sonic lives in the moment and right now he's caught in a long agonizing -ly out of control moment

Yeah, but Silver is also a bit lacking in empathy, hence Sonic snapping. I doubt Sonic would act this extreme if this didn’t happen to Antoine, and yet Silver simply can’t take the hint that, while he means well, now isn’t the time.

I’m amazed people really got pissed at Sonic here. Dudes been put through an emotional roller coaster like nothing else and here comes someone accusing his friends (without any actual proof or reasoning) of being a traitor to everyone. Hell, I actually love the telekinetic hedgehog (he’s a good dude), but I don’t think they did his intelligence much justice given who taught him what he knows.

A lot of people dislike this version of Silver, but I feel it's a much more interesting take on his character while still being faithful to the premise. For what it's worth, he even caught the real "traitor" in the end.

Honestly I'm shocked so many people think Sonic is a totally unjustified asshole in this scenario and that Silver has done no wrong.
I haven't read very much of the Archie comic run, but just from reading a few of these comments and watching the video itself, even I can tell Sonic is pretty damn justified here.
From what I've gathered from both here and wikis, Silver kept screwing around with time travel, showing up and accusing Sonic's friends of being 'traitors' with very weak evidence and logic ad nauseam. Which is, like, the worst possible way to go about finding an actual traitor. Not to mention the fact that he has attempted to murder people on NUMEROUS occasions because of these near-baseless accusations.
And Silver's 'traitor' of the week THIS time was Antoine. Y'know, the guy who is in a COMA after saving Elias.
Considering the absolute awful time Sonic had been having at this point- I won't get into the details- Silver popping up yet again, this time accusing someone who is in a coma after heroically saving Elias's life was the last straw.
And after Sonic proves Silver wrong yet again by dragging him to see that his suspect THIS time was comatose, what does Silver do next? Accuse Bunnie, Antoine's WIFE of being the traitor! His grieving wife. Because she wrote a letter saying she was leaving. And Silver has the biggest smile on his face as he does this.
Yeah, Silver completely deserved this from Sonic, regardless of his intentions.
Sonic’s frustration and anger here is very understandable. A close friend of his putting themselves in the face of danger to help you and others only to be greatly injured. Silver accusing his friend of something evil would really tick me off too. At the same time tho I think Silver wouldn’t be talking if he knew something was very wrong. Assumed incorrectly but was close in the end with Sally and how she got robotized (I believe this was before that). Still, Silver should have approached this careful and not recklessly. It’s clear Sonic is going through a tough time and isn’t in the mood.
Honestly the whole reason why I dubbed it, lol. Plus I need more excuses to scream.
That last line just epitomizes why reading this feels so wrong. This isn’t Sonic the hero, this is Sonic the edgy emotionally distraught morally gray drama queen.
Don’t get me wrong, it’s great writing, just not for Sonic. Imagine Mario being depressed. Fucking comical lmao

This is why Archie was the best. Sonic wasn’t just a static character. He had actual character arcs, showed more than 2 emotions. Seeing Sonic get sad, angry, or disappointed in those he once respected is something you just don’t see anymore

Silver was a bit flanderized in this comic series in the pre-super genesis wave continuity (the original canon). He goes from being a kind, selfless time traveller who goes back in time to save the world into an absent-minded idiot who accuses people and jumps to insane conclusions.

It was at this moment Silver became the most useless and mishandled character in Sonic history. Sad that he was originally meant to be so much more, the 3rd part of a dynamic trio, but he immediately fell from grace to the point where no writers knew what to do with him.
The only hope left for Silver is that the live action movies get to his story and make the character justice, my boi deserves better.

They dropped that aspect of silvers character and that's why he's so underutilized in sonic games nowadays. He doesn't have all that much of a drive anymore to keep his character compelling. They literally ripped his character apart because of that decision and now Sega has absolutely no clue what the hell they're even gonna do with him now. He's either got extremely small roles or is the equivalent to a cheerleader.

Yup, especially cuz in the future in this comic he’s regarded for being smart at thinking things through with time, but it’s when he’s made to be quick on the feet that he stumbles, example being when he arrived in the past and waited till the split second before sonics death to save him, because he knew that was his clearest angle at manipulating the missiles angle so he won’t be blowing sonic’s balcony with his family on it at least to kingdom come

This is one of the closest times aside from Sonic X we’ve seen Sonic loose his temper it’s quite scary to see how short tempered Sonic really is, but with the situation in this comic it’s understandable why Sonic is on edge.
well he's not exactly short tempered. He has been through ALOT. He has alot of pressure, stress, dealt with alot. A friend is possibly gonna die. So much was lost at once and at this point this is his most low. He's on the edge. He's just done with the bullshit. He only snaps out of it after a good pep talk. If I recall at this point he no longer believes he's the hero he was believed to be after failing. But he bounces back from this

One of the rare instances of Sonic loosing his temper. I can understand from both their points of view but you don’t see Sonic loose his cool very often. It’s such a shame this comic series got cancelled.
He even sheds a tear sometimes. The comics always had a way of cutting it deep with the blue blur.

I they made him more realistic and relatable with their readers, it wasn’t him just fighting Eggman all the time. I think the IDW comics are doing a good job with the Sonic series especially the Zombot Arc.

This really shows that despite how much Sonic liked to torment Antoine, he still valued him as a friend as he would the rest of the Freedom Fighters.

This scene requires prior reading on both Sonic and Silver's story up to this point. I assure you silver being so dead set on a traitor and sonic not acting his usual self both are justified by the story and if anything I'm glad that this is as far as the fight went between them. I also like that even as angry as sonic is here he can use belief in his friends to end Silver's argument. Nice to see the "Believing in my friends" thing have some strain put on it to show he really believes that and isn't just some empty platitude you hear in media.
Seeing Sonic break his cool, level-headed attitude and just go enraged at someone or something has always intrigued me as a concept. If done with the correct context, it could be a moment in the games that could go down in Sonic history. Maybe one day.

They really fucked Silver big time here. It's like they saw the opening for his campaign in 06 and figured "Oh so he's a gullible twat that only cares about his own mission with zero regard for people's feelings" so they made him exactly that. It's really hard to like Silver in this when he's pinning the role of "Traitor" onto Sonic's friends with 0 skepticism, and CONTINUES to do so even after he see's his initial suspect in a FUCKING COMA. He's more concerned about how it affects his whole traitor hypothesis than anyone's feelings.
Dont blame Sonic one bit for biting his head off, Silver's just really fucking unlikeable here.
Pretty much everyone sees him as just that in the fandom too at this point though (and from what I understand they always have).
So this scene requires some prior reading on Silver's story in the archie comics to understand why he is so set on there being a traitor or why he comes off so tone depth. The one that raised and educated him on how to save their timeline had narrowed it down to a singular point of it being a traitor and that eliminating them would change timeline for the better. In 215 he returns to his future after his first attempt he questions if he could convince the traitor by talking, but is only met with sight of his destroyed present and reasons that the traitor did this to their future and silver's past and must be stopped at all costs. Even if he is using information from the future that would seem off the wall in the present he believes it's what will save both their time and his so he is willing to do whatever it takes even if that means having to fight sonic and his friends.
Proves that even our beloved heroes can be pushed too far with certain situations.

Instead of Silver constantly being wrong about the traitor, I kind of wish he was right at first, but because he keeps time traveling to the past he causes butterfly effects. Resulting in the traitor becoming someone else through him interacting with them. Like Sonic was supposed to be the traitor, but through interacting with him on Moebius caused someone else to become the traitor and so on.
That’s so much better than the original 😭
Sonic being a traitor wouldn’t even make sense in the slightest and would have been the worst character writing in the history of Sonic. Period.

Honestly I'm surprised Silver hasn't specifically gunned for Eggman or any of the other big bads. Figure if the main villains are taken out, there's less chance of a traitor acting out since their boss is no longer a factor.

He’s more complicated than just being the Chad of the group. He has happy moments, sad moments, angry moments, crazy moments (“I GOT YOUR LIMIT RIGHT HERE!!”), makes mistakes, and quite literally lives and learns.
Other interpretations come and go but so far only IDW has come close to matching Archie’s ability to write Sonic with depth and progression.

Sonic has the right to be upset at silver considering his friend is in a coma and it’s an even if he wakes up scenario he’s not gonna let people talk down about him, but he. Of all people. Should Atleast see what silver is trying to do.
He’s not manipulating sonic, he’s not telling him to form a Lynch mob. He’s just telling sonic to watch his back on a few people.
All because silver has an unpleasant life and he’s trying to help.
That may be true, but there's also the caveat of how Silver is extremely naive, known to jump to wrong conclusions and he's trying to tell Sonic that the people closest to him, who've been with him since he was a child and have risk their lives for him, will turn on him for reasons even Silver can't explain. This is all coming from a guy who believed an obviously evil shadow specter and was tricked into trying to kill Sonic himself. I can understand why Sonic wouldn't believe in Silver and find him frustrating in this scenario.

There's the obvious point that Sonic's been through a lot recently, but pay attention to how Silver is handling this. Outside of knowing there's "a traitor," he really has no idea what he's talking about, just sort of guessing who it might be with only scraps of information. If he had opened up with just asking Sonic how the other Freedom Fighters were doing and then started actually investigating from there, this would've turned out a lot better for both of them

Resistance Sonic known this crew from since he was a kid, went on countless dangerous adventures together so it makes sense
I guess you could say Silver caught Sonic at a bad time😂. But seriously, Sonic was going through a lot (suffering multiple defeats & losing friends) at this point & Silver accusing Antoine & Bunny was just the last straw.
Thing is, before the reboot, Silver was not really wrong. It's revealed that Sally is the traitor because she was turned into a robot under Eggman's control. The passage of time (a few hundred years) turned the reality of a heroic sacrifice to her being a traitor. Now, had they saved her and turned her back they still had the possibility of history doing some creative re-writing for a few possible traitors among Sonic's friends and enemies.
Bunny, without her robot parts, felt useless and heavily responsible for Antoine's fate. So she left somewhere to change that. Whatever she ended up doing could have made her a traitor. Gregory St. John did at one point side with the Freedom Fighters and joined Noxus later. Already a traitor but he didn't do much else after his betrayal. But Noxus ended up taking over his body which means he could have done something much worse. And if anything happened to Bunny and Antoine woke up, there was a good chance he would lash out blaming others for not stopping her. And I think there was one more potential for someone turning traitor.
He was still wrong about it being Antoine and Bunny though.
I think people like to forget these, especially Silver, are naive children. He was semi-correct anyways, so it's not like he was wrong!
Was how he went about it the best?? No, but again, naive. He's just doing what he feels he has to for the good of his home.
Well technically, neither Antoine and Bunnie were the traitor (as later issues to reveal). So Silver is still partially wrong here

Uh, they didn't nerf him. If Silver ever attempted to get aggressive about this topic everyone would have turned against him, and that would have made his quest utterly impossible.
