Medieval Vacation at Pennsic in Pennsylvania

- Every summer, my man and I go to Pennsylvania, with about 10,000 other re-enactors. He's been involved for about 12 years...I'm still learning at only 3 years attending. Here's some footage from some of his heavy fighting combats, fencing, awards he received, and the "Estrogen and Axes" tournament I entered...they actually encourage me to throw axes...crazy people! ;) Plus, some shots of my medieval hair. :)

Helen Mcwilliam Thanks! I really liked the hairstyle, but it was time to take it out. It was definitely hot there (average 85 - 92 each day). I have "Pennsic-specific" outfits though, that are a bit lighter plus I carry around a parasol to keep this redhead from bursting into flames in the sun. ;)
I could only imagine it's no fine being a red head I'm fair but grey now lol still get burnt but I'm wiser now ( sometimes lol ). We haven't had a great summer at all this year the kids go back to school next Tuesday 6 weeks have flown by but the weather has been rubbish. My partner & I are away to Bulgaria next month to get some sun 😊. Can't wait to go back the kids ( who are men now ) are house sitting 😱 & baby sitting the dog lol
if you haven't taken advantage of all the classes at Pennsic U, make a point to do so next year! it's insane, all the classes they make available to the populace. :)
do you know if they're doing the Estrogen and Axes tourney again next year? i wanted to go but didn't want to hoof it all the way to the other end of forever when i had to be back in camp at a specific time.

Yes, Estrogen and Axes tourney is supposed to be happening next year, but my understanding is that it's being done by another region. Until now, Ealdormere has run it. Next year, it's being run by someone else.
+I'm A Mom Too, Meghan excellent! i'm a bit of a University addict. i fill my schedule with more classes than i could dream of getting to and lament the ones i had to cut.
that's good to know. maybe i'll do it next year. :D
I always plan out my days, filled with courses and haven't been to any...until this year. Hopefully more next year...and I'll see you at Estrogen and Axes!
