This is one of the most INTENSE moments at Fenway. When that music starts, the park goes into a frenzy. You could be getting a beer or a frank and drop it to run to feel the energy. God I love BOSTON!
EVERYTHING makes me want to go back to Fenway. However, I count my blessings that I did get to one game when Pap came out of the bullpen to this. The whole episode creates a mini-festival. Rock, baseball, Fenway, all rolled together into one delicious moment with everyone singing and jumping around. Pretty sure it was 2008 when I was living temporarily in Albany.
I went to my first Red Sox game at Fenway last weekend and it was an incredible experience. The crowd is great and the atmosphere was awesome. This is a city who loves their baseball team very much. I got misty eyed thinking about all of the greats who have played at Fenway. I can't wait to go to another game!
i remember this game. this was when jonathan papelbon gave up the game-winning 2-run home run to mets catcher omir santos. It was one of the greatest games that i had ever seen!!! :)
I've never seen Pap pitch. I 've only seen him dancing at the '07 championship parade! One day I hope he pitches at a game I'm at. cant wait to see this great entrance I've seen so many times on TV in person!!! Chills!! Shipping Up to Boston is my ringtone, love it!
There’s no other park like Fenway. The Yankees have long since demolished the house that Ruth built. The only argument you could *possibly* make is Wrigley Field. Fenway and Wrigley are the last two baseball PARKS left in the league. Camden Yards gets an honorable mention for being such a cool place. Every other park is named after dog food or some large, criminal, insurance conglomerate
The hilarious thing is, right after this happened he walked Gary Sheffield, struck out David Wright swinging, struck out Jeremy Reed swinging... and then blew the save by giving up a homerun to Omir Santos xD
@perfectparodys Thanks for the nice words. I've never been to a Blue Jays game but Red Sox games are incredible at Fenway! The best place to see a game!
from a Braves fan, boston is the coolest place ever to watch a major league game. im so used to having a jumbotron and and in boston there is non of that. Some true baseball there. i love it.
@EdgeHead579V2 Awesome!!!! Take it ALL in!! Yawkey Way inside Fenway, the atmosphere the sights the smell oh man i'm so ready for spring training!!!!! Have an amazing time!!!
Papelbon is the coolest guy ever.Last year gracefully and with a big smile He signed my jersey, my kids hat, our poster and at least 10 or more itens some lady behind me with a bunch of little girls and boys handed to me to have Him signing. He signed them all with no hurry or complaints. He had one 'bad' year, so what? He the closer of our team and best the SOX have had in many years. I can feel it, this is our year, just like '04 and '07...SOX all the way, yeah!!
I first saw Papelbon when then minor league teams played at Fenway. Everyone instantly realized he was going to be big. I wish they still had the minor league Sox play at Fenway.
i know what game this was. This was the game papelbon gave up the game winning 2-run homer to mets catcher Omir Santos. It was one of the greatest games i ever saw!!!
As A Yankee fan since 1989 I can say I use to feel bad for the Red Sox. I know people in Boston and my first MLB game was at Fenway. That being said this is a pretty cool intro. I like it since I'm Irish and all. The new neo Sox "faithful" does bug me quite a bit though. It makes all the die hard longtime fans look bad.
Jonathan's gone..but the song stays with us and it's a good one..something you can dance to.. If you like Red Sox songs,stories,etc..try out "ACE DIAMOND's CD: "PLAYIN' BASEBALL"..it's a winner.(.on most sites)
im going to boston on the 30th and 31st for the first time and i can barely contain myself haha! also what kind of camera do you have this is awesome quality! and youre seats were pretty awesome too!
@waffles78 haha YES! I hate the bo sox, love this song, like papelbon, but have been an Indians fan my whole life and when they blew the ALCS against boston in 2007 I was pissed for weeks
@Ayersdawwgah stats don't mean anything to me. if you need help counting such items as lets say World Series Rings you only have 6. The Bronx Bombers have a total of 27!!!! yes 6 is bigger than 27 my friend!!!!!!!!!
@juzu4me How exactly is Pap "overrated"? The guy is one of the most feared closers and played fairly well this season going 4-1 with 31 saves and a 2.94 ERA.
@RedSoxNation92 Yeah, totally. He did have that one kind of bad year this last season, though he still notched over 35 saves and all... Pap had a bad year. Instead of bitching about how the whole team should be sent back to the minors because they didn't make the playoffs, why not give him a chance to prove himself this season? One "bad" season out of 5 does not the end of a career make.
@perfectparodys r u kidding?! r redsox games as awsome as the blue jays! hell ya its amazing when ur in the park it is wicked cool. Unlike the jays the stadium is sold out everynight
This is one of the most INTENSE moments at Fenway. When that music starts, the park goes into a frenzy. You could be getting a beer or a frank and drop it to run to feel the energy. God I love BOSTON!
Considering they stop selling beer after the 7th, no you couldn’t be.

I'm not into baseball so much, but this song and Mr. pabelbon's appearances are very exciting moment !!

My dad went to Boston University and during his time at BU he often remembered great memories of Fenway.
God I still get goosebumps! Wonderful times!
THIS FUCKING RAW, best part of baseball
Perhaps the most superfluous announcement ever is After Shipping up to Boston is played, announcing who is pitching for the Red Sox
Love this video! HUGE Red SOX fan from Austin TX... One of these days, I will make the journey to Fenway for a game. Can't wait!! GO SOX!!!!!!
Did you end up making it to a game
This is why baseball is the greatest game there is.
Thanks Simmons for checking out my video - what an honor!
------ Go Sox!
I don't know what's better, the PA announcer's absolutely perfect timing or the deafening echo at "WHOA!"
finally made my way up to boston from pittsburgh this summer to see my redsox play. greatest expierence ever
I LUV THIS SO MUCH! MY FAVORITE PART! besides when they WIN!
Its so unfair how both the Yankee's AND Red Sox had my two favorite closer entrances AT THE SAME TIME.
I WILL MISS YOU PAP
I miss him too.....miss him getting bombed by my Yankees!
IMO: Yawkey way should have been changed to David Ortiz Way.
@@Peterstarzynskitech 8-2 pal, 8-2, you’re not that guy trust me pal, you’re not that guy.

Im a Jays Fan going to my first Jays/Sox game in Boston. This atmosphere is gonna be fucking amazing i cant wait!!!
May we hear this again soon ? I hope so
I hope not. he kills the momentum of the game. I saw him take 20 minutes in one inning before with 3 batters
5 people never lost their leg climbing up the topsail
DROPKICK MURPHYS+RED SOX=SEXY!
I first saw Papelbon when then minor league teams played at Fenway. Everyone instantly realized he was going to be big. I wish they still had the minor league Sox play at Fenway.
so sick!
sooo glad im a phillies fan, what a great addition to our team
He blew this game

Let’s go RED SOX!!!!!!!!!!!!!
this is awesome

even as a yankee fan, i admit this beats rivera's sandman
this had to be epic, wish i couldve witnessed it before Paplebon left

This canadian has 3 baseball teams he likes, doing from good to great right now.
3rd - Buejays
2nd.Mariners
1st. Red Sox.
WOOOOOOH DROPKICK MURPHYS

pap is the sickest closer
cant wait to see them play the white sox in july
I miss this walk up song
i don't know the first thing about baseball... but any guy that has dropkick murphys as there intro is gotta be one awesome player
im a rays fan but i have got to admit its a pretty cool song
this is the moment we all just grab a beer sit back and watch the red sox win
As A Yankee fan since 1989 I can say I use to feel bad for the Red Sox. I know people in Boston and my first MLB game was at Fenway. That being said this is a pretty cool intro. the sport of baseball is at a whole other level in Boston & New York. Haven't heard a convincing reason why any other city has a team.
Best thing about baseball no mattter what team you root for is the Closers Entrance
I'm going to the Twins opening day vs Boston! I can't wait
@delishadish no he's back
At shortstop#22 current manager Alex Cora
You know it's tradition when the city policeman fist pounds Papelbon as he exits the bullpen.
I love baseball.
what you didnt see was that he blew the game
@MWCfan78 Lol i would agree. A drunk irish band for a drunk irish city
Should be the music video for this song.
best closer intro in baseball, sorry mr. sandman (mariano rivera)
He should dance his way to the mound.
the DC strangler
