The "Why not tar" section needs work. You mentioned archives are encrypted but showed an example of an archive being compressed. BTW, in most public usages, tar archives are compressed not encrypted. Also, there's mention of unzip not being installed on most systems as a downside but Plan9 tools are also not installed on most systems. Granted, the bundle script is easy to create oneself. However, I get the sense this video was made for people who have permission to install unzip. Anyways, thanks for sharing info about bundle with us.
My mistake I must have miss spoken I ment compressed.
On the topic of unzip you don't actually need bundle to unbundle it you need a special tool to unzip.
