200km Brevet: 2019 ARA-München Tölzer-Land-Rundfahrt

2019. Two thousand and nineteen. It feels like a lifetime ago. Full of enthusiasm for the upcoming cycling season, a new bike which would be the answer to all my problems, and the prospect of Paris-Brest-Paris just a not-so-short set of four qualifying rounds away.
This would be my first ride of ARA-MUC's Toelzer Land Rundfahrt route having ridden the excellent Oberland Route in 2017 & 2018. Having ridden at least one event each year since ARA-MUC's formation there were more and more familiar faces, having suffered together, had fun together, and gotten out of some tight spots together.
Almost as a tradition the weather was spectacular for the 200 season opener. Cake, sunburnt eyebrows, alcohol free Weißbier, a mild bonk, and fun riding. So much has happened since this bright sunny day in April 2019.
