It sucks so many of us have this attitude after we've messed up. I remember my 6th grade teacher had us do a project of writing our own obituary and how'd we'd want it to read. Stuck with me 30 years later. Stay strong.

It's a really good tool to utilize. Beginning anything with the end in mind is a good thing. You never know where you are going to end up in life of you don't have a target to aim at.
