This is very much like the original hand powered Tornado machine invented by Andrew Dietz in Toledo, Ohio USA after returning from the St Louis Purchase Exposition. A small white gas burner melted the sugar and his crank was mounted vertically. It was a success from the start. He also made ice cream cone waffle irons after the impromtu invention of the ice cream cone. When he retired in the 1940's from Concession Supply he sold the design of the later machines to Gold Medal Products, who still make them.

he could have added a few gears to increase the speed of the head this will save effort in having to manually spin the rotor in a 1:10 ratio
wit a gear the ratio could 10 fold 1 rotation with the hand= 100 rotation on the head
looked more like he was just using what he had available. might not of had gears to throw in there

El recipiente donde va la azucar tiene fuego abajo que hace liquida la azucar y a los lados tiene pequeños orificios como del tamaño de una aguja de coser por donde la fuerza centrifuga hace pasar los hilos de azucar

Just place sugar in the middle of the drum.
Simples.É um reservatório onde o açúcar é depositado e com o calor do fogo é derretido e centrifugado pela rotação. O caramelo derretido sai pelos furos na base dessa peça onde você vê o açúcar sendo colocado. Espero ter colaborado com você.
