almost all of these happened to me too mario 64 has this weird thing where when you are too close to something and you feel happiness you just die out of nowhere and then you just wanna do nothing but cry in despair that's why i both love and hate this game😂😂
These are some really great moments! You even showed things i didn't know could happen, like flying up from the wind after being shot by the cannon in tiny huge island xD
It's not for no reason. It's an exploration game, but a lot of the levels are vertical, which makes it linear. That means when you want to explore upwards and you made one single mistake you have to start from the bottom, and the level is big but not big enough to make you not feel repetitive.
Ok, what exactly did you hit on that first clip? Also it was pretty funny how that chain chomp attacked you just as you got a star. Don't you just hate it that as you were close to the surface to get some air, your lungs gave up on you? Wait, really? You picked up a coin after you got hit by lava yet it wasn't enough to give health? Boy those lava worlds must be hell for Mario. Um...was that buzzard alright?...at least you won't have to worry about Mario's hat being taken away. And getting sucked into a whirlpool just as you unlocked the star. Geez, and I thought Donald Duck was the one with all the bad luck but this video has proven me wrong after seeing all the fails & deaths. Makes you feel sorry for Mario to go through all that though. Good thing he hasn't snapped and gone Turbo. This was a hilarious video to witness. Can't wait for the next one you publish soon, Jeff.
Reminds me of when I was playing and i was on that level you unlock vanish Mario and somehow I got caught on fire,fell off the map while on fire and when the screen came back I was in water and immediately drowned!? (Edit vanish cap under the moat,not the metal one)
I feel like both Mario 64 and Mario Sunshine would both be much better games if they literally punish players for being impatient or wanting to try and take even a very small shortcut in some bits of the game. There were a few times where I spent 20-40 seconds doing a long section and then the games physics or enemies or just whatever screws me up because I did something like a jump 0.5-2 seconds earlier than the game wanted. I’m sure no one else has had that problem.
Biggest example of this being Course 10’s Snowman Land from Mario 64, where you have to climb this mountain, and if you walk slightly too fast near the top of the mountain, you have to waste another 1 and a half minutes getting back to the mountain.
Honestly, Mario 64 is not a fun game. It is nigh unplayable today. I bought the Mario 3D collection, tried Mario 64 once or twice, and will likely never touch it again, haha. Seeing this video reminded me how bad of a game it really is, lol! Sunshine can now be played like it could on the GameCube, which is nice. But, that one has a big learning curve that I’ve never caught onto. Galaxy on the other hand, is a good port. It is certainly one of the best Mario games to date!

It's in Tall, Tall Mountain. There's a fake wall (that kinda wobbles like a painting does) near the top of the mountain, just past a cloud enemy.
