- For all the annoyances of repeating areas and slow (but engaging) combat, Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door is now a series highlight. Thanks for watching our Paper Mario video review!

#papermario #review - Hry
I still remember the 6.25 they gave it 20 years ago 😂
Lets not bring that up here 😂
Just be happy the majority of the other reviewers gave this remake 9s and 10s. And just to add I saw someone gave Metroid prime, the GC version, a 7 when it first came out and unfortunately for these reviewers, the internet will remember these outlier reviews like the taste of sour milk
they were right
@@SivalinPuthery are people not allowed to give a mediocre score now? fucking drone
@@ledbowmanyou’re stoopid
Super nice to hear a fresh perspective of the game. I personally always enjoyed my time with the game, but I’ve never finished it. I think this guy gets at some of the those reasons why.
I think it’s possible to say “I liked it, but there were some parts I didn’t care for.”
Honestly this is game of the year for me
I don't know what your review window was, and I personally think you would have enjoyed this game more if you were able to take your time with it.
An 8.5 isn’t good enough for you smh? It’s a good game but it’s not a masterpiece
@smellywaffels1967
I was not talking about the review score. His criticism seemed like he could not enjoy it properly due to having to review the game in a certain time frame for work.
I got mine in the mail
Some people cant take criticism, just because you like a game and think its amazing doesnt mean everyone else has to.
Ohh be quiet
Didn't the original version get like a 6 out of 10 in the original game informer magazine?
That was a really fantastic review! I can't remember the last time I appreciated a Game Informer review as much as this. I played the game when I was very young but I'm glad to see it holds up. It'll always hold a special place in my heart.
It’s nice to see a review that doesn’t have the nostalgia goggles like I do. It’s an interesting perspective, esp since he’s never played it back in the day. However, I wholeheartedly disagree with everything he said 😂
Is this game worth it if I already own the gamecube version?
As just a guy on the internet i’d say yeah. the quality of life changes aren’t huge but they do help with the replayability and honestly the new graphics are worth the new game on their own
Of course it’s worth it lol is that even a question my guy
I just looked up a quick comparison video and it looks night and day! The Gamecube game looked like some low-poly nonsense, but here in the Switch version you can really feel that everything is made out of paper. Looks amazing!
Nope the execution button prompts stayed that way all the way through in the original game too.
As a fan of this game from the GameCube era, what a lovely remake/remaster. It’s a beautiful game, feels like I’m playing it the first time again.
I love the modern tweaks, the click wheel to switch partners on the fly, also easing some of the backtracking, so far I’m really enjoying it again. It’s an easy 9/10(a very biased 9/10) for me, yeah lack of 60fps is a little bit of a bummer but it doesn’t diminish my love for this game.
I haven't played in so long I forget what switching partners originally was. Menus?
I preordered it
Oh brother.
don't forget the 0.25
I give this review a 3/10. No mention of Rawk Hawk 🤣
Paper Mario 64 best Paper Mario.... I hope Nintendo intends somewhat of a return to form
I loved this game
I didnt play the original. The surprising thing more than anything for me, was just how dark the story got, even with all of the Mario fluff and shanigans that we are used to. The longevity too. Quite a bit of replayability.
Snazzy review thumbnail design!
Thanks! Had fun with it. - Alex
Hi Kyle! 👋
Go to 4:48 for 8.25 rating. You’re welcome.
But I wanna know why it got a 8.25
I love it
Wait is this a remake or a remaster?
Remake
I think everyone just needs to take a break at game. Informer you’re talking about dredging watching an animation for a video game. This is your job. Take a break if you don’t find it enjoyable a lot of other people would take the job gladly.
Right. Am glad Kyle is back tho but GI needs a break. Especially when ppl like Andrew Reiner retired so it's a whole new era.
I mean thinking the animations are slow is a valid opinion. Especially the prompts. It's not that big a deal , but it's completely fine to think they're slow. They kinda are.
A review is an opinion and not everyone needs to think TTYD is some life changing masterpiece
You're acting like he's dreading playing the game, he just said some of the animations are slow and there's too much backtracking lmao. What 💀
Hey man if this score bothers you you should've seen what they gave it back in the day. :P I think it's a pretty fair review even if I disagree.
@@brandonsclips7741 if you read the criticism it’s specific to the comment about the animation. He reads the review well
The beat thing Nintendo produces is a re-release of a 20+ year old game lol. Sad af especially when people praise them for it. We dont deserve nice things.
It's not the best thing they've produced though. Some of their exclusives on the Switch have been the same, if not better. Notable entries being the two Zelda's, Pikmin 4, Super Smash Bros Ultimate. This remake is fantastic, but they've had some massive hits.
not a fan of the paper gimmick
No one asked you
Everyone is lying to themselves or have low self esteem when they say it is alright for the game to run as slow as it does not just in the game proper but on the menus too.
To those praising the quality of life time saving shortcuts, not only does that make you a whiny person but not a fan of traditional rpgs. At the end of the day upon finishing the game you would have wasted more time on loading times compared to the original due to how lazy of a job Nintendo approved.
The addition of annoying voices to partners, the default lower difficulty with no way to reverse it to the original and the butchered remaked songs make for a great game for fans who value themselves no more than someone who showers once every week.
Shush, you might accidentally bring people closer to reality. That's not allowed on internet, didn't you read the manual?
Thats quite a hill to die on!
I'll be starting my 2nd pt today, I think the original was awesome but I think the remake is better and makes me happier. 🤷♀️🤣
Sorry it's not for you, but as somebody who played the OG day 1 in 2004-
I have just been given a very special gift from the universe, that I never thought Id get back ❤🎉
and yes... I shower daily. 😊
Sorry insults towards others happiness are how you cope with it not being how you'd like. Thats not going to do anything but amplify how you feel tbh. 🤷♀️
This is the worst "review" I've seen 😂😂😂😂😂
