Hi John Thankyou so much for your entertaining videos and awesome recipes. Just a question i made the lemon cookies and when i added the lemon juice to the butter/sugar mixture it curdled ☹, i added the dry mixture and just going. I wondered though why it did that, is there something i did wrong?

What I do when I make a recipe similar to this, is pulse some freeze dried raspberries in a the food processor and mix them into the glaze. I call them pink lemonade cookies.
I made these yesterday and they are the best lemon cookies I've ever had. Sometimes I just want a fully soft cookie and these are perfect. I didn't have lemon paste or extract so I added about an extra half tablespoon of zest and it still had a strong lemon flavor. I also mixed the sugar and zest together really good, let it sit and infuse while i put the other ingredients together and that worked perfectly. I'm a new subscriber as of a few days ago and I'm hooked on your channel. You're excitement for baking is what I love and exactly how I feel about it. Looking forward to more videos and trying out more recipes.
I love lemon-flavored desserts because I have a lemon tree in my backyard so I'm always trying to find new lemon desserts. I made them without the glaze because I didn't want them to be too sweet and they make amazing little snacks!
No you gotta try the glaze it's not sweet i swear i tried it it's kind of sour you won't taste the sugar it's so lemony i think it would add more flavor to your cookies

I just made these cookies here in the UK and made them gluten free and lactose free by substituting the flour for Doves FREEE plain flour plus a teaspoon of xanthan gum and substituted the butter for Flora Plant butter. They baked up really well and are absolutely delicious (even without the lemon extract which I didn't have)
I love lemon anything. Made these & dipped each cookie. Then let glaze set & colored remaining glaze with a bit of yellow coloring, added a little more sugar to make the paste thicker, then drizzled yellow bands across each glazed cookie. Yummm!

I've been making these with preserved lemons instead of the normal zest lately, and adding an extra sprinkle of them on top before going in the oven. Gives the cookies a bit more depth of flavor and texture. Worth a shot if you have any sitting around.

These cookies are absolutely delightful. About 5 years ago, I travelled to Scotland and there I tried for the first time some really nice lemon melt shortbread biscuits. That's when I fell in love with lemon biscuits (and with Scotland as well tbh). I found so many good memories from Scotland in every bite of the cookies. Needed a lemon cookie recipe for txgiving for my daughter in law. My grandson did actually, 19 learning to cook in charge of desserts this year. Very simple to follow, easy pantry ingredients, neighbors lemons. I only purchased the extract last minute because it was on sale. Disclaimer not a fan of lemon desserts, but neither were they for me. The cookie was a light but pillowy? cookie. Hint of lemon flavor, slight crunch from a light browning of the bottom. Originally thought we would skip the glaze, hence the last minute extract purchase. OH dont skip the glaze. A light drizzle glaze was a perfect finish to this cookie. Highly recommend.
Normally I don’t comment, but your recipe was amazing. I don’t eat dairy, and so I swapped the butter with a bit less canola oil. I didn’t have lemon paste either so I just added a bit more lemon juice. After I let the dough rest in the refrigerator I took it out and it looked like bread dough. I was a bit worried but I put them in the oven. After they cooled they looked really dry and not so appealing. I put on the glaze and tasted them. They were soo good!! Crumbly, soft and moist. My family loved them too. Thank you for this recipe! You’re like a magical chemist lol (I’m actual making them again today)

First time making these cookies. I mixed a double batch. If you are going to double batch then go all “Greek” on the lemon zest for the sugars. I used 2 lemons and it wasn’t enough lemon flavor for me. This was my first time so it’s a learning curve. Thank you John you are awesome!🌻✌🏾👍🏾❤️ P.S. Just made the glaze! Easy Peasy!

Just wondering, you say 1 table spoon baking. SODA when you add it in. When I went over to the written recipe it says BAKING SODA in the ingredient list, but in the directions it says add BAKING POWDER. Is baking soda correct or is it baking powder? They look so delicious and I am so anxious to make them!

I always love lemon flavor Desert. I made a lemon bars cookies a few years ago that used lemon zest from three lemons, plus the juice from those same three lemons, plus on top of that I a tablespoon of lemon extract. These were so lemony that they made everyone pucker a little bit. They were sure good.
Made these today and Ohhh boy are they good!! You'll forget chocolatechip cookies after this🥰 FUNFACT: I broke an egg too while making this recipe, it never slips off my hand i guess its the recipe. So be careful of your egg-grip while you make these🙊

After they cooled they looked really dry and not so appealing. I put on the glaze and tasted them. They were soo good!! Crumbly, soft and moist. My family loved them too.

First time making these cookies. I mixed a double batch. If you are going to double batch then go all “Greek” on the lemon zest for the sugars. I used 2 lemons and it wasn’t enough lemon flavor for me. This was my first time so it’s a learning curve. Thank you John you are awesome!🌻✌🏾👍🏾❤️

Just wondering, you say 1 table spoon baking. SODA when you add it in. When I went over to the written recipe it says BAKING SODA in the ingredient list, but in the directions it says add BAKING POWDER. Is baking soda correct or is it baking powder? They look so delicious and I am so anxious to make them!

I always love lemon flavor Desert. I made a lemon bars cookies a few years ago that used lemon zest from three lemons, plus the juice from those same three lemons, plus on top of that I a tablespoon of lemon extract. These were so lemony that they made everyone pucker a little bit. They were sure good.
