So I’m of Caribbean descent, I was taught black= African American, me being of African descent doesn’t mean I’m black, it means I’m of the diaspora. So I say all this to say black is a culture, but we’re all of the diaspora, we have different cultures, different foods, syntax of speech, but again we’re all children of the diaspora 😊
Nah, i disagree if you are Caribbean ... you are not African i live in London, born and raised, and the Africans and Caribbeans historically never got along we used to outnumber them but now they outnumber us so even though we created what it means to be black in the U.K. they perform it more than us but in the 90's Africans used to try and be Carribean look how many Reggae artists come straight from Africa, and never touched Caribbean soil Lucky Dub, Alpha Blondy and African China Afrobeats sounds suspiciously close to dancehall music ... same with reggaeton well, it's in the Name so, everything African Americans claim the Africans are doing to them, they did to us first whilst calling us Black Akata children of slaves Jamaican is a nationality, not an ethnicity same with Trini, St Croix and the U.S. Virgin Islands it's just the majority of these populations are black so calling them Afro-Jamaican is pointless, the default Jamaican is African looking were in Africa? we don't know until you do a DNA test, but somewhere on the continent but if a Caribbean does a DNA test, it doesn't come up as "your 100% Nigerian",just like the Americans, they are a mixture of multiple African ancestry it's just Americans have been gaslighting the hell out of Caribbean people to convince them they are different ethnically you are the same people coming from the same slave trade Barbados was the first slave colony in 1492 African Americans claim 1526 the Caribbean are technically older than the African Americans so, the next conversation is about culture slaves until 1865, except freemen, etc, in America slaves until 1832, except mixed people in the Caribbean Brazil was slaves until 1882 so, 200 years of culture you can mention black wall street that happened to some African Americans but in truth Caribbeans have been migrating in small numbers to America way before 1900's there are numerous great black people who people think are American but are Caribbean James Weldon Johnson Born 1874, wrote the black national anthem was from the Bahamas W.E.D. Dubious was from the Bahamas born in 1868 so there are impactful Caribbean people in the America before 1900s an the Jackson tribe who moved to Trinidad from America in the early 1900s so these two cultures have been exchanging for over a hundred years it's just now Americans are separating because of the chance of reparations which should be an American national issue around its black natives not a black movement turning black people against each other but culturally, these people are very similar except for one thing we took the time to learn about America Americans never took the time to learn about black people outside of the United States also Carribeans have a different accent but so do people from Chicago vs New York vs Texas vs Miami not even every place in America sounds the same and has the exact same history a Caribbean just means islands that broke off the mainland the Caribbean, the top half is in America, the Continent in China, some of them call me an African American, knowing i'm from Jamacia because Jamaica is a country in the Caribbean, which is a place in America one of the reasons America didn't acquire the Caribbean is because the slaves were prone to revolt, and they didn't want that influence of their own slaves sorry TMI But after reparations does being black come to an end? are you just an American or an African-American why is being black based on reparations and not what it historically means whatever
If you can't trace your family back to the slavery days, which would probably land you somewhere in the southern states, which would make you a freedman, you're not of our same lineage (black). Its a cultural thing in America for black folks here but everyone usually has some information about their own family fleeing from the south to the north and / or slavery stories from their elders. If you were past generation was inslaved by the US government, you're black. If you have black skin but your family / lineage is of elsewhere, then you're not apart of our particle group that has been through a particle situation with the government of the United States. If you can get deported then youre not the same type of black we're referring to. (No shade just facts)
Proper talking is how the white world want us to talk it’s crazy that you can’t get a job talking black or talking the way you would if you was around your normal environment
Black is a Lineage / Ethnicity Black Americans have been Black on the very first U.S census in America if you cannot Trace your Lineage to America prior to 1865 you are Not Black.
@@kennylafortune63the first National Racial census was in America in 1790 , Haiti was still Saint Domingue not only that Haitians speak French creole not English , there constitution says “Noir”not Black , Black Americans are Black ethnically, Haitians are their own Haitian ethnicity with there own French creole culture
I hear it all the time, "you ain't black mofo…" I'm getting tired of it. Seriously, it wears me down
Lol the spades comment is a real one! The story of my life!😂😂

I agree! But you know how it goes..lol It's definitely a culture thing, but for some reason we all get put in the same pot...Thanks!

Nah, i disagree
if you are Caribbean ... you are not African
i live in London, born and raised, and the Africans and Caribbeans historically never got along
we used to outnumber them but now they outnumber us
so even though we created what it means to be black in the U.K. they perform it more than us
but in the 90's
Africans used to try and be Carribean
look how many Reggae artists come straight from Africa, and never touched Caribbean soil
Lucky Dub, Alpha Blondy and African China
Afrobeats sounds suspiciously close to dancehall music ... same with reggaeton
well, it's in the Name
so, everything African Americans claim the Africans are doing to them, they did to us first whilst calling us

Akata
children of slaves
Jamaican is a nationality, not an ethnicity
same with Trini, St Croix and the U.S. Virgin Islands
it's just the majority of these populations are black
so calling them Afro-Jamaican is pointless, the default Jamaican is African looking
were in Africa? we don't know until you do a DNA test, but somewhere on the continent

it's just Americans have been gaslighting the hell out of Caribbean people to convince them they are different
ethnically you are the same people coming from the same slave trade
Barbados was the first slave colony in 1492
African Americans claim 1526
the Caribbean are technically older than the African Americans
so, the next conversation is about culture
slaves until 1865, except freemen, etc, in America
slaves until 1832, except mixed people in the Caribbean
Brazil was slaves until 1882
so, 200 years of culture
you can mention black wall street that happened to some African Americans
but in truth
Caribbeans have been migrating in small numbers to America way before 1900's
there are numerous great black people who people think are American but are Caribbean
James Weldon Johnson
Born 1874, wrote the black national anthem was from the Bahamas
W.E.D. Dubious was from the Bahamas born in 1868
so there are impactful Caribbean people in the America before 1900s
an the Jackson tribe who moved to Trinidad from America in the early 1900s
so these two cultures have been exchanging for over a hundred years
it's just now Americans are separating because of the chance of reparations
which should be an American national issue around its black natives
not a black movement turning black people against each other
but culturally, these people are very similar
except for one thing
we took the time to learn about America
Americans never took the time to learn about black people outside of the United States
also Carribeans have a different accent
but so do people from Chicago vs New York vs Texas vs Miami
not even every place in America sounds the same and has the exact same history
a Caribbean just means islands that broke off the mainland
the Caribbean, the top half is in America, the Continent
in China, some of them call me an African American, knowing i'm from Jamacia because
Jamaica is a country in the Caribbean, which is a place in America
one of the reasons America didn't acquire the Caribbean is because the slaves were prone to revolt, and they didn't want that influence of their own slaves
sorry
TMI
But after reparations does being black come to an end? are you just an American or an African-American
why is being black based on reparations and not what it historically means
whatever
This makes us racist lol all one race
Black is American born folk with African decent

Great point! I like that....#FACTS
Terrible reasoning. Many Black people cant trace their roots as far back as 1865 due to records either being destroyed or not updated.
