I wonder how many people got the “Trigger’s broom” reference? 😃
How the hell can it be the same bloody broom then !! Well here’s a picture of it 😂
Hats off to you for saying “don’t be afraid to leave the job” so many should say the same to Ambulance and NHS staff. It’s a tough world, and as you rightly said, we live once! Do a job you enjoy not the job you think you are required to do!
Well you know what needs to happen next........ We need to see you eating Cereal with gravy !.
I’d love to see some more commentaries on pursuits. The one on the boxing of the BMW was so good
Can't armbar a penguin mate, they don't have any lmao
I had an Ex Lincs S60 come into stock that I drove for a while. It absolutely flew ! At 17mpg round town and so much quicker than a customer trade in S60 we had in at the time too. It did have a complete new interior and dash and body holes filled and painted prior coming to me. I was surprised how popular they with interest to sell
Hi Ben met you on the plane to Gibraltar in march, just wanna say I love your videos mate keep it going 🙏
Great video as always Ben!
Thanks for answering my question about national service! Great vid Ben!
No chance would I ever do national service. Forced or not, they wouldn't get a damn thing out of me. Anyone who would is an idiot
Another great video. For everyone out there, if you've not got his books, get buying. I read his first in one night. His truth and raw emotions, did reduce me to tears in parts. But it was a gift, I had a breakdown last year
His books helped me open up and talked about all the things I had been bottling up for the past 20 years, and it was cathartic. I truly felt the weight being lifted off of me.. Thanks, Ben, you help so many and guve freely. I can not thank you enough . ❤️❤️❤️
Another great one , Ben.❤
Love these questions
Thanks for answering my question about the advice having just joined the job
Another fantastic vid ben, I’ll keep an eye out for those penguins!
Ben 🚔🚔seriously love your channel I have TBI & PTSD (pub assault in Australia) hospitalised 10 years way u use ur platform to push mental health awareness 🫡🫡
Good advice about jobs and mental health Ben
I'd pay good money to see you fight those 5ft penguins 😂😂😂
Lovely vid cheers.
Penguins can't raise their arms/flipper things, spinning heel kicks all day long, line them up and knock them down.
Channel is coming on really well
Oooohhhh Northern boys love Gravy!!!...😍😍
OSU and Firearms Ops are gonna love you 😂😂😂
Big admirer and fan of your work Ben, you tell it how it is and don't beat around the Bush with your honest opinions and expertise...keep it up lad (even for a Yorkshire man 😉)
Loving the videos, any reading recommendations, book-wise (other than your own ;) ) that you would recommend to someone who is in the early stages of joining the service? TIA
Just watched 2 episodes Traffic Cops from North Yorkshire. Baby Ben was in both and so was Paul Crabtree who is now a Sergeant.
Try chips cheese and gravy it's amazing!!! 😂🤣😂
Gimme a tray of those huge Yorkshires from that carvery place and I'll make my own proper gravy, and happily sit dunking throughout even a crappy film, and be content.
Hi Ben, I'm so glad someone can speak about the awareness of PTSD and mental health.
I am a nurse and I had to give up my job recently due to a complex back injury at work that has left me disabled and walking with sticks.
I am currently suffering from mental health problems due to this and losing my mobility etc and has taken a toll on me.
I'm starting my own CZcams channel up about my RC Car hobby that has helped me significantly over the past few months and I'm hoping that it will grow and I get the support.
I wish you all the best Ben and hopefully you'll see this message.
Tk😊
P.s more awareness on dashcams are nessesary as i have one and a sticker in my back window and it has detured a fewnpeople from talegating me as i have a rear camera as well.
Some longer videos please!
Love your videos Ben as a fellow yorkshire lad I have gravy on my super noodles n all, it's the proper stuff 👌
I've got hand cuffed emotions on audiobook. Will 1965 code 11 and hotel tango 23 be available on audiobook aswell, because due to being so yorkshire it hurts I come home and fall into bed ready for my next 38 hour shift at the pit 😅 so I dunt wanna get it mucky tha sees.
Another tour de force Ben.
I liked what you said about it just being a job. Same here. I tell people, I am not a barrister, I'm just someone who occasionally barristers. It's a job description not an identity.
I'm also so glad you talk so openly about mental health. We have that issue too (I suspect most jobs do). But at least now the culture has changed so you can at least talk about it. So even if you can't really do anything about the underlying issues, you can at least know you're not alone.
Also, with regards your next book project, if you already have someone lined up great. But if not, feel free to hit me up. Self defence/defence of others was one of my things in my criminal bar days. I also used to do seminars on use of force for a few organisations, including certain old bill.
Nooo Ben, chips and curry sauce all the way! Gravy with everything else though 100%. Thanks for answering my question, great content as always :)
Chips & gravy from the chippy all-day long but I'm a northerner like the ex copper.
You dnt know what your missing 😜
I’m a few hundred miles away down in the south west… we’re more curry sauce people😆
Well, 'Christine' hasn't been MOT'd since 2013...so it might not be good news Ben
I have never tackled a 5' Penguin, BUT I have had a go on a 3' long Toblerone.
Had an ex policeman insignia VXR, best car ive ever had, all the major problems had been fixed. But needed 4 new springs, and all the bushes were shot
Chips and gravy all the way!….😁
big up the bread and gravy
the firearms comment made me spill my drink 🤣🤣
@Ben Pearson Is it true that during a home burglary, self defence with possible lethal force, is only applicable should the invader start ascending the stairs?
Ben did the police use to take the stereos out of the cars back in the day?.
'its like triggers broom' haha
Fish chips and gravy awesome
YJ58TXW not been on the road since 2014, so probably scrapped...
Got a question for you Ben, after watching your video talking about the most pursued vehicles in Bradford..... you mentioned about how much you hate quads and KTM Crossers... if you had to choose one or the other, what would it be and why?
Wouldn't have picked anything other than danger zone if I was ever in a pursuit 😂
Had 2 ex police cars. They were quite cheap, which was the key factor.
Both worked really well - didn't seem to need much maintenance beyond any other second hand car I've had.
I think they were both beat cars rather than traffic or anything where they'd have been spanked hard every shift.
Took one to a garage to get something looked at...
"You know that you can't use this type of tyre on this car? You'll get a £1,000 fine if the police see that!"
"Don't think the police will care..."
"Yes they will! This is so bad! Let us sell you 5 new tyres!"
"The police put that tyre on."
"What?"
"Ex police car."
"Oh. Ok, yeah, that tyre's fine."
Got stopped in one once - I went to pull into a layby for a rest, saw that the police were there dealing with someone, so I kept going to the next safe place to stop. Police car arrives a few minutes later... "You went to stop, but drove on when you saw us. Why?"
"Needed to stop for a rest. Didn't want to get in your way, you looked busy."
"Fair enough... This is an old police car, isn't it..."
Turned out the stickers above each wheel arch with the pressures gave it away.
Second one had a fault develop with the gear box - I was able to select forward gears but not reverse. One of the gates inside the gearbox had snapped. The garage said they had never seen that type of fault before! Guess that one had been given a little bit of abuse by the previous owner!
First one died because the engine and turbo seem to be a well known problem - 1.6 Focus.
Second one recently died of old age - the MOT was BER. Scrap guy commented on how good it still sounded for a 2005 car as he drove it onto his truck.
Would I get another one? Probably not - I'm more in the market for an Approved Used with a warranty. If I wanted to buy another cheap car for cash, would I? Maybe.
Cardboard and dogshit. Love it. 🤣🤣
Well I Was The Same 36yrs Working For A large Bus Company On The Bus Recovery Side Then Heart Failure Crept Up On Me Never Saw That Coming Now iIl Health Pensioned Off But Still Here To Enjoy Not Setting That Goddam Alarm Clock And Able To Go To Any Event Rather Than The Usual Eh Em Think Am Working That Day So Many Things That Were Missed Out Over The Years And Its 5 O'Clock Somewhere So I Can Have Beerz When I Want
Hi Ben, I had an ex police Volvo V70, T5, 2.5, it’s number was 3044, from down south I do believe, fastest car I ve ever had, was great till the turbo blew up….😂😂
I knew a lad years ago who bought an ex police Astra. Went like the clappers for an Astra of it's caliber (can't remember the engine displacement). He owned it a whole 9 days before it punched a fist size hole through the bottom end... Good times !😂
In some cases, they can be the performance variants "dressed down" to look like a standard car. In a similar situation a mate of mine also bought an ex-police Vauxhall Insignia, just looked standard but it went like stink.. Turned out it was the Twin Turbo V6 VXR Insignia and he still has it 5 years later.
After seeing the luck he has with it, I also bought an Ex-Police car a 2010 3.2 VR6 Passat estate with a DSG gearbox.. It seemed like the perfect car, but it was an electrical nightmare and I sold it before I ever got to drive it to the MOT center.
Ben is right I guess.. don't buy an ex-police car.
Have you ever seen Edge of Darkness? (The original BBC series, not the terrible film). That's all about a Bradford copper and they filmed bits of it in the Tyrls.
❤
Do you like appearing on the channel 5 programme 😊
Can't believe you "lost" the names. That's almost as likely as losing evidence 😂 jokes of course, don't nick me lol
I was in the infantry for 10 years and I think most soldiers would disagree with you about national service. You don’t really want to deploy with someone who has been forced to be there.
There’s a country called South Korea who would say otherwise!🤣🤣🤣
@@maxk6522 how would you know
@@WestermanT. because it’s common knowledge they use obligatory national service and it works. They have an incredibly strong army just ask North Korea why they haven’t tried to invade yet
@@maxk6522 I didn’t say it doesn’t work, I said most serving soldiers would rather serve with people who want to be there instead of being forced to. The South Korean armed forces is impressive because of the amount of money they have put into their defence not so much the number of troops.
YJ58TXW hasn't been MOTd since 2014, so unless she's in a barn, don't think she's still going :(
❤❤
5ft penguin
It lived 60 million years ago in what is now New Zealand. An incomplete skeleton makes it difficult to know for sure how tall it stood, but researchers estimate its height at about 5ft 2in. How Kumimanu fordycei, left, towers over a Petrudyptes penguin and a modern emperor penguin.
Ducks have changed into penguins
Gravy because us northern boys love gravy
Ever given an innocent person a beating?
5ft penguins eh ! give up ben lad only 5ft penguins your taking about is the biscuit variety ! just like me , il have the basterds lol .. one love
West Midlands police give you pot noodles now 😅😅
Also, would you rather get trampled by 5 duck sized horses or 1 horse sized duck 🤔
Are cops allowed to listen to the radio?
Tudor Black Bay panda chrono?
Chips and gravy or chips and curry sauce?
Neither, not a chance, it's your traditional choices, salt and vinegar or ketchup.
Have you watched a police show called The Responder about a cop (Martin Freeman) who has mental health problems and if so what did you think?
Vectra was sorn in 2014
The curry ain’t that bad 🤣
Boom again nearly first comment again my mate x
Ben I'm sorry to inform you but Christine is sorn and the MOT expired 2014. I think she's gone bud.
Think most northerners have gravy with everything 😂😂
Sorry to tell you this ben, your vxr Christine hasn't been motd since 2013 and tax ran out 2014. Chances are Christine may be dead 😞.
Did You Ever Fart Through The Drivers Seat While On Duty With A Female Officer Or Did You Go And Check Rear Tyres
I agree with the national service and a brilliant and sensible answer
Bringing back national service is a bad idea
Hi me first
Could You Stop Holding The Microphone Like That L.O.L.
1:14 you mean the same people that paid your wages and you wouldn't have had a job without ?
He's talking about youth's who go out on the street committing crime whilst claiming benefits they do not pay his wages infact their benefits are paid for by the same people who pay his wages which is tax payers
@@bentaylor6995 "umm actually he's talking about 🤓".. shhhhh 🤫
I don't see how u can support national service when u support mental health. That's forcing people into somewhere that will more than likely wreck them mentally. I don't see the logic behind that at all
The military screen people for mental-illnesses & when National Service existed(Back in the 50s:-),people with mental-illnesses were either stopped from joining or,thrown out.
