  • How To Finish Campervan Walls
To finish the interior wall panels we are going to be using auto stretch carpet to line both the wood panelling and also the bare metal pillars. This carpet is used in many car and camper van conversions. The carpet is stretchy so it can be contoured in to all the difficult shapes that the camper van has.
To fix the carpet on to both the wood panels and metal pillars we are using a contact adhesive spray, you spray this on to both the material and also the surface on which you want to fix the carpet too.
The carpet gives you both a nice finish but also a little bit more insulation especially on the metal pillars of the van.

I like your style and craftsmanship. You are a great teacher😃. Will try being brief as possible I have. 04 GMC Savana hitop conversion van and in a perpetual quandary with best way to complete ceilings and walls. It’ has three big 26x40” windows with four door windows all can open in the rear. Consequently minimal wall space under and in between windows. The mere fact of the walls not being square is particularly the rear corners makes things more challenging. I’m using mineral wool for acoustic and thermal qualities and wedged approx 3” onto walls( used R15 6” semi rigid 24”x48” panels split in half) For ceiling I am using 1” rigid 24”x48” mineral wool. There are a few 8’ 1x4”s embedded in the fiberglass roof useful for screwing materials. Headroom is a factor so have approx 1/4” for finish ceiling material below the 1” insulation. Used sound deadener and packed doors with ins behind the decorative door panels. Lastly will need get acoustic curtains along with cutting custom 1” insulated window covers. rConsidering 1.5””outside corner trim along perimeter of raised roof portion as ledger to support insulation and attach finished material to. Perhaps auto upholstery fabric, duck cloth/ burlap, bamboo slats or grass cloth type matting/webbing, with some 1/4” 3.5”x8’ thin cedar planks Getting to the point of contacting you is how to and what might you do for finished wall and ceiling materials capable of breathing so not to block acoustic attributes of mineral wool (planning high end sound system so desire best breathable frequency absorbing material over the rockwool. You could send email if desired to pmjs1955@hotmail.com Thank you
