Hey everyone, Kaila and I are so glad you are loving this! I wanted to answer some questions real quick! - The introverted/ambiverted/extroverted aspect is not a definite thing! You can be any and sorted into any house! It is simply that MOST of each type get sorted into a specific house due to what they value most. But you can be an introvert in Sphynxeye! (thats why you can choose the 2 to a room option! lol) - YES you can hang in other houses common rooms as long as you are invited in! Our version of ilvermorny is very together since it started as a safe haven before it was turned into a school (more on that later). You can also eat with other houses in the great hall during meals! - We do have things like the uniforms and such already created so we will show that stuff in the next video as well! We will try and film the next video this month. And i will consider making some sort of blog where all of this info can live as requested! May the ivy guide you x

For example, I’m a hufflepuff and sparrowcrest and they both really ring true to me, so i guess what I’m just wondering is if you had to connect your houses to the existing hogwarts houses, how would they line up?

I love how much thought was put into this because I also didn’t really like Ilvermorny when I first read about it on pottermore but this version is amazing (got sorted into SphynxEye !✨)

last year, i made a greek school for witchcraft and wizardry (i was taking ancient greek language classes so i was inspired). it was basically an all girls school, located on an island only visible for witches and wizards. the girls would travel to the island by pegasus. there were three houses and each of them were represented by a greek godess (artemis, athena and hestia, the three virgin godesses). during the sorting process, a girl would stand in front of three statues that represented the godesses. the statues would 'choose' the student, come to life and place a flowercrown on her head. the flowers used in the flowercrown had symbolic meanings that corresponded with the houses. sadly, i didn't have time to finish the idea and i was kinda stuck there :/

What are their stories? - are there any dangerous magical creatures/rumors of evil beings that lurk in the surrounding forest of the campus? - what sort of traditions does the school hold (like the Yule ball)? - are there any restricted sections of the campus/halls/grounds? Why are they restricted?

My boyfriend and I also talked about the concept of Ilvermorny and decided we weren’t thrilled either. It shouldn’t have been founded by a European witch in our opinion. We thought a Native American origin sounded more interesting and authentic to North America. We also loved the idea of it being a very multicultural school with a mixture of magical heritages influencing their curriculum from the Voodoo of the New Orleans area to the curanderas of southern states bordering Mexico, and everything else in between!! :) Sort of like an American Gods type vibe. It would make Illvermorny truly unique amongst the Wizarding schools.
Yes . I'm Irish ( same country as the founder ) . It would be more realistic if it was founded in the 1840s as that's during the famine but 100% your way would be better

I would love to hear how your Ilvermorny responded to different events in American history, like the American Revolution, Salem Witch Trials, the Civil War, and the first and second world wars. What about the “discovery” of America by Columbus, and the influence of Native American magic? I think that would be fascinating!
"Native American magic" is problematic - the biggest thing JK got so wrong with Ilvermorny and the whole Fantastic Beasts thing (stealing and appropriating Indigenous tribes' legends and practices and claiming they're part of her magical universe is racist, lazy and not cool). Native American traditions and spiritual practices are NOT fiction. They do NOT equal Harry Potter universe type of magic. Please let's all educate ourself on this - Native Appropriations has covered this in depth in their blog. Please google this. Harry Potter universe, fictional magic etc is a wonderful thing! We just need to understand Native American people are NOT fiction nor are their traditions or "magic". ❤❤❤
The usage of mythological/spiritual creatures and concepts as base for artistic creations have been around since the beginning of art , which is exactly why many cultures have similar concepts and even creatures ( dragons or shapeshifter for exemple ) , Human Culture and Arts is a long story of invention, sharing and appropriation , no matter the part of earth it comes from. Doesn’t excuse the ignorance or disrespect of the concept you might choose to use in order to further your creativity, especially when it comes to spiritual beliefs, and that is were I think JK messed up.
Got sorted into sphynxeye! Like with gryffindor, I never expected to get sorted into a house that represents bravery or being extroverted. Besides that, I really enjoyed the quiz you made, I think it was done wonderfully, and this video made me feel really cozy on a 95 degree Florida day. 🍂
This is fun. Heuristics class sounds so much like my cup of tea. When I first heard of houses I couldn't just pick one. I ended up with Sphynxeye. Within Hogwarts, I always wind up in Slytherin or Ravenclaw. Introverted, driven, creative and intelligent are things that usually I consider myself. Albeit I hate manipulation, which seems so rife in Slytherin.

there are so many interesting ideas in this! I like the way the differences kinda reflect the actual differences between american and british schools, like pretty much all of the schools in the uk have houses and a house competition of some sorts, plus all of them have to have prefects/at least a head boy and girl whereas I think thats less common in america. I hope you make another video with more details bcos this was kinda brilliant!

Honestly, I'm so impressed!! This was such a labor of love and you can totally tell. As much as I love Harry Potter, canon Ilvermony was so lackluster and disappointing for me. It definitely felt like an after thought, I wish it was more substantial. But this is where this idea you two had steps in. This is fantastic, amazing world building!! And the sorting quiz is intuitive and I can definitely tell a lot of thought was put behind the questions and answers (unlike the mess that is pottermore's awful sorting hat quiz). I got sorted into Sparrowcrest and it was such a fantastic fit, it was so nice to take a sorting hat quiz that wasn't sloppily made. I'd love to see more of this!

this is so amazing, I love how you actually re-imagined everything while keeping the essentials, instead of just adding something to Hogwarts which sadly was what Jo did! it seems way more cohesive. Personally, I believe that houses shouldn't have specific traits to get in. Besides it being a headache for teachers to sort through, I believe that for each house to be as well rounded as possible they need all sorts of people in them. Stronger house unity that way.
You should make ilvermorny house merch! Like scarfs or something. I myself never really fit only in one hogwarts house, but I definetly feel at home in foxtail and would love to wear foxtail merch

I think it's better to recreate an entire school like ilvermorny (let's be honest, the Canon one is kinda bad) than try to add something to hogwarts, that have a special place in everyone's heart. I ended up with Sparrowcrest! I always end up with something related to birds lmao. I'm a ravenclaw (with a lil bit of slytherin) , my patronus is a Marsh Harrier, and my ilvermorny house is thunderbird.... Guess it's meant to be. I'm really pleased by the description of Sparrowcrest though

Oh my goodness! Your reimagined version is so awesome. The designs, color combinations, and inspiration boards are so beautiful. The quiz is a lot of fun, and my results fit me perfectly. I got sorted into Sparrowcrest, which is so lovely. All of the plant and greenery just looked so comfy cozy and welcoming. And a big kitchen to make delectable foods to share with friends?! Yes, please! Can I live in those dorms? I want my house to be like this! I am beyond impressed.
The quiz is really whimsical and cute! I got sphynxeye. I feel like I'd be more comfortable in the other houses, but that sphynxeye is the house I'd long to live up to - adventures and all that. The bit about wanting to experience everything the world has to offer really got to me.

My boyfriend and I also talked about the concept of Ilvermorny and decided we weren’t thrilled either. It shouldn’t have been founded by a European witch in our opinion. We thought a Native American origin sounded more interesting and authentic to North America. We also loved the idea of it being a very multicultural school with a mixture of magical heritages influencing their curriculum from the Voodoo of the New Orleans area to the curanderas of southern states bordering Mexico, and everything else in between!! :) Sort of like an American Gods type vibe. It would make Illvermorny truly unique amongst the Wizarding schools.

I would love to hear how your Ilvermorny responded to different events in American history, like the American Revolution, Salem Witch Trials, the Civil War, and the first and second world wars. What about the “discovery” of America by Columbus, and the influence of Native American magic? I think that would be fascinating!
"Native American magic" is problematic - the biggest thing JK got so wrong with Ilvermorny and the whole Fantastic Beasts thing (stealing and appropriating Indigenous tribes' legends and practices and claiming they're part of her magical universe is racist, lazy and not cool). Native American traditions and spiritual practices are NOT fiction. They do NOT equal Harry Potter universe type of magic. Please let's all educate ourself on this - Native Appropriations has covered this in depth in their blog. Please google this. Harry Potter universe, fictional magic etc is a wonderful thing! We just need to understand Native American people are NOT fiction nor are their traditions or "magic". ❤❤❤
The usage of mythological/spiritual creatures and concepts as base for artistic creations have been around since the beginning of art , which is exactly why many cultures have similar concepts and even creatures ( dragons or shapeshifter for exemple ) , Human Culture and Arts is a long story of invention, sharing and appropriation , no matter the part of earth it comes from. Doesn’t excuse the ignorance or disrespect of the concept you might choose to use in order to further your creativity, especially when it comes to spiritual beliefs, and that is were I think JK messed up.

Got sorted into sphynxeye! Like with gryffindor, I never expected to get sorted into a house that represents bravery or being extroverted. Besides that, I really enjoyed the quiz you made, I think it was done wonderfully, and this video made me feel really cozy on a 95 degree Florida day. 🍂

This is fun. Heuristics class sounds so much like my cup of tea. When I first heard of houses I couldn't just pick one. I ended up with Sphynxeye. Within Hogwarts, I always wind up in Slytherin or Ravenclaw. Introverted, driven, creative and intelligent are things that usually I consider myself. Albeit I hate manipulation, which seems so rife in Slytherin.

I’m in Sphynxeye! 🐆🌘✨ I’m obsessed with the concept of Heuristics, it feels like it allocates unique ways of casting magic, but also ‘quieter’ methods, and as an introverted Sphynxeye that enjoys peacefulness I guess that’s how I fit in! Hehe

there are so many interesting ideas in this! I like the way the differences kinda reflect the actual differences between american and british schools, like pretty much all of the schools in the uk have houses and a house competition of some sorts, plus all of them have to have prefects/at least a head boy and girl whereas I think thats less common in america. I hope you make another video with more details bcos this was kinda brilliant!

Honestly, I'm so impressed!! This was such a labor of love and you can totally tell. As much as I love Harry Potter, canon Ilvermony was so lackluster and disappointing for me. It definitely felt like an after thought, I wish it was more substantial.
But this is where this idea you two had steps in. This is fantastic, amazing world building!! And the sorting quiz is intuitive and I can definitely tell a lot of thought was put behind the questions and answers (unlike the mess that is pottermore's awful sorting hat quiz). I got sorted into Sparrowcrest and it was such a fantastic fit, it was so nice to take a sorting hat quiz that wasn't sloppily made. I'd love to see more of this!

this is so amazing, I love how you actually re-imagined everything while keeping the essentials, instead of just adding something to Hogwarts which sadly was what Jo did! it seems way more cohesive. I'm now a Sphynxeye and a Slytherin 🖤 although I'm more of an introvert, I do identify a lot with this new house. and the new subject is so cool, when watching/reading Harry Potter something I always thought about when daydreaming about living in the magical world was how I would love to do magic with my bare hands! so you can imagine I absolutely love how you enter the Sphynxeye dorms would 100% watch another one of these ☕️

Personally, I believe that houses shouldn't have specific traits to get in. Besides it being a headache for teachers to sort through, I believe that for each house to be as well rounded as possible they need all sorts of people in them. Stronger house unity that way.

i took the quiz before i knew what they were to be less biased and wow! i got sparrowcrest! i was bummed i didn’t get foxtail but after watching and you explaining sparrowcrest was the perfect one for me!! the kitchen was spot on for me, i’m in culinary art school so cooking is always a stress reliever and i love sharing what i make with others! great job on the video and quiz! loved it all and you❤️

Love this content! I think it's better to recreate an entire school like ilvermorny (let's be honest, the Canon one is kinda bad) than try to add something to hogwarts, that have a special place in everyone's heart.

Back when you'd first created Foxtail, I remember relating to it so much. So when I took your quiz (before watching the video, also can I say the quiz was so much fun!) I was so surprised I ended up with Sphinxeye! But when you were explaining what it meant, I felt like it definitely definitely fit me so much better. Even the colors were ones that are already my favorites! Anyways loved this and I hope you do more videos in the future where you talk about this amazing project! 💖

Oh my goodness! Your reimagined version is so awesome. The designs, color combinations, and inspiration boards are so beautiful. The quiz is a lot of fun, and my results fit me perfectly. I got sorted into Sparrowcrest, which is so lovely. All of the plant and greenery just looked so comfy cozy and welcoming. And a big kitchen to make delectable foods to share with friends?! Yes, please! Can I live in those dorms? I want my house to be like this! I am beyond impressed.
The quiz is really whimsical and cute! I got sphynxeye. I feel like I'd be more comfortable in the other houses, but that sphynxeye is the house I'd long to live up to - adventures and all that. The bit about wanting to experience everything the world has to offer really got to me.
