I agree. Its collegiate music programs. I know it's fun to trade back n forth but ..whatever the crowds response said it was entertaining live tho so I guess it worked. They low key put a show on together. Southern with the crispy finish tho.

Lol I love the ignorance but I will say SU is very impressive. Not to take anything away from TxSU, because damn they are pushing watts, but the musician in me loves to hear advanced musicality and there’s nothing too advanced with half notes and quarter note sections.
For example, TxSU’s euphos are singing that one note and that is cutting like a hot knife in warm butter. SU’s euphos are playing rhythms and chording them. Winner winner bbq chicken dinner to the Jukes

I liked this exchange, TxSU was itchin to get a battle in since they upped their numbers compared to the last battle they had with SU. Their sound and volume definitely improved but they lacked in music selection, it definitely would’ve been a close tie if they played better songs.

Can anyone tell me why TxSU has one of the smallest bands in the SWAC year after year when their campus is centrally located in the heart of the 4th largest city in the U.S. SU recruits alot members from the Houston area. The town of Prairie View is virtually a village but PVAMU's band is almost twice the size of TxSU.

@Wille that's not true Southern has had less horns against bigger bands for decades and came out on top and sound more balance. This is a fact that you can go on you tube an look at SU from the 90s and especaily 2001 against FAMU! SU knows how to arrange their music to their size. TXSU just cares about euphoniums and tubas obviously because those two sections have stucked out every year!
