Agreed and this is coming from a hardcore DD fan but i never thought Simon had a great voice, he is just OK. Tony's voice is much better and I'm not even a SB fan...
But Simon has an unique, distinctive voice and I could never imagine someone else singing their songs.. not even brilliant Tony Hadley who did great cover of save a prayer, it sounds amazing, but still Simon is Simon... He may not be the best or excellent vocalist out there, but definitely has something special in his voice that makes you want to listen more and more of DD... I mean who would have sang better 'Come undone' than him, can you imagine someone else to do it instead? I can't, sorry...
@@MsLylals on some songs Simon's voice is absolutely nailed. It fits perfectly in. Then there are some others song when hes off beat. Its win or lose with him sometimes. But on his good day when he hits the right note in his voice its amazing.
Tony is more skilled for sure; a song like "True" wouldn't be in Simon's capabilities, he's not a crooner. But sometimes having a voice that's too "polished" doesn't work for all songs, especially not for typical Duran Duran songs that aren't ballads, especially a song like "Save a Prayer". If you were to hear this version and the original you'd agree that while Tony makes the song sound more pleasant, Simon's version has more "character" and sticks out more in a strange way that makes it work

Every time I hear this guy sing I think of Bill Murray doing his Nick the lounge singer on SNL. They don’t get more cheesier than this guy and his ex-band.
Holy shit.. one of the best most haunting voices and he is still this god even today.
WOW! Great job. Proof there's no rivalry among true artists!
Spandau and DD- supposed to be rivals, but when they showed up to make the BandAid record, the 2 groups had just been on vacation- together.
Imagine how Lebon would sound like if sings Spandau’s TRUE🧐

Lovell❤️ Very good
muy Tony precioso 😍
Tony. Let's hear Simon sing "true". I Would bet I would like it better! DD remake True!
Simon's voice can't hold a candle to Tony's.
@@mr.balloffurI'm team Duran Duran but even I admit that Tony has superior pipes than Simon, a song like True isn't within Simon's capabilities.

Tony Hadley has a much better voice than Simon Lebon!! Tony sounds wonderful singing this!

That's pretty, but Simon did it better, not so schmaltzy in my opinion.
Ha, didn't know that "schmaltzy" is an English word. Funny. However, I agree Eduard.
La canta meglio lui che Simon le Bon
Adesso non diciamo cazzate per favore
I romani direbbero mo nu s'allargamo
Nothing wrong with this but brings nothing new to it, pointless.
