Caymus hasn't been complex in a long time, it's a fruit-bomb for the masses.

I just finished watching your review. Wish I would have seen this earlier, I got a Caymus Napa Cab 2021 for a Birthday present and I was hoping for a wine that was extra special. Since I am not at the level of other wine drinkers, I hope that it will still be an enjoyable glass of wine. This will be the first bottle of Caymus that I have ever tried. It was purchased for $80 at Total Wine & More and was their last bottle, so they didn't seem to have a problem moving the product. I am hoping for the best. Moving forward, I plan to watch your reviews again very often for your advise. Thanks again for being so honest. Many others have given it a good review because the name is Caymus. Thanks again!

Thanks for watching. Caymus is arguably the most important brand in Napa Valley. That said, they make wines that appeal to a GLOBAL market, and this is not by accident. They pivoted early and the Wagner family is a master marketing machine. The recent years of Caymus are clearly not my style but this 2021 is just awful, especially given the price tag associated.

I appreciate you confirming my sanity. I had this the other day and was very underwhelmed. It was smooth and easy to drink throughout the whole bottle, but there was no liveliness or complexity. It was like a strong lambrusco. I can’t believe this is a 4.6 on vivino.

Vivino is the herd….people will always give Caymus high scores regardless of what’s in the bottle. Would love to see what Robert Parker is scoring Caymus these days. 🙄

We have very different tastes. This wine is standout, delicious perfection to me.

Keep trying wines. You’ll see there’s much better stuff out there

It is my understanding that in the last few years, Caymus has been running on its name so to speak. A local wine shop owner near me has informed me that I should stay away from the wine as he knows my palate is more into a serious cabernet Sauvignon and I have taken his advice. For this price there are Napa wineries that I would go to such as Peju or Pine Ridge. Have a safe new year.

Caterwaul cab beat you all. Wait so they didn't even grow this wine? So you're saying they are essentially Meomi at this point? I learned everything I needed to know in the first minute. Nope what a ripp off

he was talking about the 2020 release being sourced due to the fire. 2021 is their grapes. Doesn't mean it's worth $80 though.

the price has not gone up much compared to Artemis. At costco it went up by less than 10 dollars at least. Caymus cab is always smooth and little on the sweet side. For a gift it is not that bad

In my humble opinion Caymus’ price doesn’t need to increase any more. It makes a great gift and Artemis, I tasted the most recent vintage last week, is back! 💪🏽👌🏽

Are you sure that was a legit bottle? If it doesn’t taste or smell like others you have tried and it completely lacked any complexity, is it a fake?
