- I was already in Nashville for business, so I decided to take the ES-2-500 along and make arrangements to get its first run in at Eagle Point Railroad, down by Chattanooga. It was a rainy, miserable day but a great run around the mainline.
Many thanks to today's sponsor, Banta Modelworks. www.bantamodelworks.com

That was so cool. I see they really build their tracks well. There were zero derailments in this video. I'll watch this again justt to see all the cool things there. I was amazed at the bridges. Wow.
They have heavier rail than I have. That's the major difference.
Ok I'm hooked now this stuff is great. I have Family in TX that does this.
the container wagons look so cool
Driving throught wet and miserable weather...
"As is tradition..." 😇
To be fair, where I grew up, wet n miserable was the norm, so to me it's my happy place.
And now I drive a rail vehicle and... it's still a happy place. But you use a lot of sand to prevent wheelslip.
This is an awesome small scale railroad! Your new engine is coming along. Great work!
Я смотрю видео не на смотрюсь, везде лайк, и подписываюсь, на каждом видео где вижу такие поезда, я просто люблю поезда очень.
Thanks for watching!
Eagle point is awesome always love seeing new tracks. Four miles is a nice run. Great video looking forward to seeing your new cab. Wayne
...and that wasn't even the whole track!
That is a fantastic railway/Railroad love all the bridges I could literally stay there for ever and not be bored
WOW! Your new engine can haul some butt!
Great Video thanks for the ride. What a great little loco.
What an awesome railroad! The ES-2-500 preformed admirably from what I observed. Going to be neat seeing it painted and finished.
Very smooth operation, especially for a shakedown cruise. Handled leaves on the track quite nicely, though I did somewhat miss the derail/re-rail operations.
I'm sure I'll derail with it sooner or later.
That bear silhouette around the 9 minute mark made me do a double take! Up here in Canada, you have to watch out for those guys!
You have to watch out for black bears in Vermont, as well.
Thanks for the tour!
Very nice I hope you get alot of used out of it have fun with it. Thanks for the video.
What a spectacular railroad. I would never leave. Nice shakedown of your new engine. Can't wait to see the end product being put to work on your home rails.
So beautiful and long ride. Can you enjoy it as much as we are? Like to see it some day.
I enjoyed it a lot until I got cold from being rained on. Then I enjoyed it a little less. That was a hypothermia run.
I agree with others. The Eagle Point is a great RR. Thanks for the tour.
That was neat. What a layout
Thanks.
The Loco sounds great and looks good
Will you use one controller to operate both loco's or will you need two
For this one and the 70, I'm using two. When I've finished my own locomotive, I'll just use one radio and pair two receivers to it.
NEAT TOYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Просто нет слов каким професионалом надо быть чтобы это построить, не один год наверное строили всё это красоту. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗👍👍👍👍👍
It has taken more than a decade to build the railway.
Going on this track must give you some idea on your new bush track extension, it looks great
It is an inspiring railroad, for sure.
One word...WOW!
That was a wonderful ride through the park are the woods
Awesome railroad and great video.
Beautiful laid track, you can really boogie
That is a nice track.
Another great video. If you ever get to Western New York, let me know and if the timing is right, I'll give you a cab ride in an FPA (1:1) Cheers
I'll have to take you up on that. My wife has family in the Buffalo area.
@@MillBrookRailroad Great. I'm an hour south of Buffalo.

i agree with roger huber..awesome railroad..it's a sin is so far from my home ( Roma, Italia )..your vehicle doing great job too
It's a 24 hour drive for me, so it's not exactly close to my home, either. I never miss a chance to visit, though.
@@MillBrookRailroad a good trip for you too
Albino Flamingos -- LOL-- excellent~~!
Superb testing on good track. Pass switches and diamond just like a pro. Damp long run prove that she´s ready for Mill Brook world. I wonder if their grade isn´t steeper than yours. Being small it´s easier to carry from club to club and is compact for your enginehouse turntable. Some would like to see you with huge SD-40. Well with your tiny rails you could cheat like Brazilian narrow gauge using surplus Canadian & US retrucked on 4 BB trucks with shortened fuel tank and extended frame with highly pivoting lowered narrow gauges couplers (for tight curves) but still far too big, heavy and costly for your needs. 2 "identical" sisters is easier for parts supply and 70 gives you many years of abuse and still going strong. I don´t know if the club get a lot of frost, but bigger rails makes a big difference. Sometimes saving on rail price is a headache on the long run. Just hope that culp rails in betwen that club size and your tiny ones is really working fine.
Too bad testing in cold damp. Good success ahead. Congrats !! and thanks for the show.
I think it's safe to say that the MLBK is a steeper grade.
Magnifique ce réseau, le test s' avere plus que concluant, good machine .....
C'est magnifique! Non?
@@MillBrookRailroad Yes, tout a fait ....
Just Subscribed to your channel and hit the bell, you have a fine railroad there.
incredible
This is awesome! I gotta ask, how many acres is this track built on? Looks to be quite a bit, actually. The only thing missing that I didn't see was an actual tunnel. If you don't have one, I'd suggest building a tunnel out of a wood frame over a short section of track, then cover it with dirt and make it blend in with rest of the scenery there. That would be pretty neat. Also, I think these engines are electric right, as in battery powered? These small scale tracks are fascinating, do y'all ever have any rail fans sneak in and try to catch videos of y'all going around the track lol!? 😂 I myself am retired now but before that I made a good living the last 25 years of my career working for two companies that designed and manufactured track switches, crossing guards, relays, signals, and automatic train control (ATC) for RR companies. Ever heard of Union Switch & Signal, now known as Hitachi Rail? I also worked for Imagemap, who made track geometry measurement equipment. Also, this track is somewhere in Tennessee, right?? Thanks for the video, enjoyed watching it!! 😊
I don't know how many acres it is, but it is a lot. The Eagle Point Railroad is in Dunlap, TN. You can find more information about the railroad at www.csme-eprr.com/
The locomotive I was running was a prototype for a production run of battery electric locomotives that I'm now producing in small batches.
I am familiar with US&S, but not to the point of knowing their product lines well. I've probably seen more GRS equipment here in New England, where I'm based, but I don't do much with standard gauge railroads anymore. I focus mostly on promoting these little tramways these days.
How long do your batteries last and how much track do you have access to. I think this is awesome.
🍀Happy St. Pattys Day 🇮🇪 from #BBQRando 🧨💥🥩🌵
That is a very scenic railroad. How many acres does the property have?
I don't know how big the property is. It's certainly bigger than my 6.75 acres.
That's a pretty place to have a railroad. Wonder what the wattage is for the locomotive's drive motor, or how heavy those cars actually are.
The motor is 500W. Not sure about the cars.
@@MillBrookRailroad that's got a suprising amount of torque (tractive effort more like :P) to pull that well in the rain. That's pretty impressive.
@@DFX2KX It felt like it would have pulled a lot more, given the opportunity. It pulled like it was running light.
Wow, Dunlap must have been a drive from Windsor!
24 hour drive. I had to go to Nashville on business, anyway.
and not a single derailment
Quick question... in your last video, you mentioned the temporary body is bigger than the 70...
Is the new body going to be a match, or is going to be the big sister locomotive?
Great video as always 😊❤
It is a bigger locomotive in every dimension.
Will you be able to operate in tandem with 70
Absolutely!
Did you set up your loco to run on 7.5-inch guage, or is Eagle Point 7.25?
I have had mu volume very low, so I probably missed it if you mentioned it in the video.
That loco was built to be 7.5" gauge.
Cold shivering? been there done that, no fun at all. That is what you call a model railway ,4 mile's long American's go all out ,make's our's in the U.K look pathetic,. Great video thank you for making me jealous(lol) ...
Nah we have plenty of tracks as big some bigger it is a good layout never the less now train mountain now that's probably bigger than we have in this gauge anyways
@@marknewell7355 yes i have seen train mountain on y/tube mark
@@peter15871 If it weren't for you guys in the UK, there wouldn't be any tracks like this here in the US. We take a lot of inspiration from you folks over the years. Just because our railroads are big doesn't make yours any less interesting. You've got some amazing railways there.
@@MillBrookRailroad thank's for the complement
Nice railroad! Just think of the fun you would have had trying to keep the snow off a railroad this large back at your home.🤦🏼♂️
how much weight can one train pull? would there be a way to make a train more powerful to be able to pull more? say for example a bunch of people
It will pull a one ton train up a 2.5% grade. That's the limit for the traction motor.
ES-2-500 is a model number, not a road number; what does it stand for ?
(Electric Switcher - 2 axle - 500w motor)
You got it! It is a model number. Electric Switcher, 2 drive axles, 500W of traction motors.
So is the cab going to be steel or wood and are you going to replace the cab of the 70
The cab will be laser cut wood and I'll replace the cab of the 70 with a laser cut wood cab as well.
Check out chemult Oregon. Largest model road in the world.70 miles from me
Chilliquin? Train Mountain?
Yes my mistake .
Is that the new loco for the mill brook? So there gonna be two locos there ?
There are already two locos at the Mill Brook Railroad. This one is for a customer. I have an upcoming video where I fix the smaller of our two current locomotives and I'm also working on another loco, like the one in the video, for the MLBK.
@@MillBrookRailroad where’s the sec locomotive
Will you be keeping the 70 for double-heading, or as a relief loco?
The 70 is still the main power. The new locomotive is not quite finished. We still have to do a tear-down, finish the body and do prep and paint.
Im in the wrong scale !! 🤣
Join the dark side.
Where can I get info on building a 8 1/2 engine??😁😁😁🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🚚
Just re-gauge a 7-1/2" gauge engine. :-)
is there anything like this in montana?
There's a list of tracks nationwide at www.discoverlivesteam.com/A-clubs.htm
@@MillBrookRailroad awesome thanks for the help
#disappointed you didn't show us the loco in the volt
I'll have to show it in the Volt when I bring it back to the MLBK. It's at Banta Modelworks right now.
Интересно сколько метров там построенно, точно думаю больше 1 километра👍👍👍👍👍
i only rode 2/3 of the railway and covered approximately 6km in filming this video.
Sorry, I fed the Sasquatch...
So, that's why the flamingos are disappearing! Lol!
how do u make these i would like to know cause i want to build a private one
The track? I'll have some videos about track building coming up. It's not a simple, quick answer.
no photo in the Volt? so sad
There'll be video of it in the Volt.
What scale is the building's?
Probably 1/8 scale. 1-1/2" to the foot.
Czy robiłeś test jak długo może lokomotywa jeździć na jednym ładowaniu?
No, but I know that a pair of group 27 lead acid deep cycle batteries will run a heavy train for 7 hours straight with the same motor and gearing.
This test run was done with 8 year old batteries that were smaller than what the locomotive is designed for and I had no worries about range.
@@MillBrookRailroad 7 godzin to dobry wynik. A ile może uciągnąć kilogramów?
