- HAPPY PRIDE MONTH EVERYONE!!!! Since season two of hsmtmts came out I decided to rewatch the first season because I had nothing else to do. Basically this entire video is this show out of context. Enjoy!

It starts out really cringy but get gradually better. Especially the first 2-3 episodes are a bit... ehhh.
And the entire cast is just incredibly talented.

The first season was so cheesy and so funny but so so dumb and I loved every second of it
What have they done ....
They killed season 2, and not in a good way. Season 1 was full of cringe and weirdness, and that’s what made it great. Season 2 was too overdone.
2:12 same energy the other students in English class had when reading Shakespeare. As someone who theater a few times, it pissed me off

As someone who hasnt watched the show this cut has intrigued me and aroused my curiosity for the show, while simultaneously disgusting me and solidifying that I never want to watch this show.

The aggressive vocalizing is giving very much petty piano playing (from Bridgerton and also Anne with an E if y'all don't get the reference) energy and I...love it? I absolutely love it!

soo.....they definitely had different writers for season 2. s2 was so bad compared to this masterpiece (however I also noticed how lack of extras in s2 made a giant impact....everything was so 'empty', damn covid)

I'd say the teenage characters are pretty accurate.
Source: I've been involved in the theatre department for all four years of my high school life.
This series may not be an exact copy and paste of what being in theatre is like, but it does a pretty damn good job of giving anyone who isn't an idea of what the experience is like. We are in fact like a chaotic, messy family that's also a bit of a cult.
Hell, my class was even MORE chaotic than this.
Everyone can have their own opinion, but going off on personal experience, this show is the most accurate Disney has portrayed teenage characters in years :/

@@JasonToddsThighs my first year of musical theatre we were so chaotic, we pissed off the one person who comes everyyear to help with blocking and second directing that she didnt come back except for one other play for a few days. teenagers in theatre be crazy. XD
Honestly the theatre department at my school literally had a rumoured orgy that occurred when they went on a field trip to NYC that led to a girl and her gf breaking up so that the 1st girl could get together with a 3rd girl who was at the center of the orgy, then eventually breaking up with her 2nd gf (the 3rd girl) to get back together with her first gf (the 2nd girl). The two of whom later broke up due to unknown reasons so the 1st girl could date an entirely separate 4th girl. However the 1st girl doing this made her unpopular enough to loose the ASB elections, so she didn’t become ASB president, but instead went on to serve as ASB VP for 3 years in a row. And that was only one girl. So like… this show is genuinely less dramatic than that entire event that spanned *four years.*

Soooo what is the show about? Is the show about making HSM or is it set in the HSM universe?
It's set in our universe, kind of. By that, i mean that in the show, the world of HSM is none other than fiction. Just movies.
The series is related to the movies in the sense that in the show, the characters attend the same school where the films were shot.
Basically, during the first season, the new characters are putting on a production of HSM for their winter musical. That's pretty much the gist of it.
