Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is a term that describes disorders involving long-standing (chronic) inflammation of tissues in your digestive tract. Types of IBD include Ulcerative colitis and
Crohn's disease. Both ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease usually are characterized by diarrhea, rectal bleeding, abdominal pain, fatigue and weight loss.
For some people, IBD is only a mild illness. For others, it's a debilitating condition that can lead to life-threatening complications.

I was diagnosed with Crohn's disease two months ago, and I am really afraid of its complications in the future. I read that Crohn's disease increases the risk of colon cancer, God forbid. Is this true,Please reply.

I also read that but I think everyone can get cancer. It’s important you eat enough vitamines and veggies. Look up the Wim hof methode. Try certain meditation. I believe in self healing until a certain point. Don’t think negative or stress it affects your disease. ❤

The risk is higher the longer you've had Crohn's but even with an increased risk, the risk is still very small - 3-5% patients who've lived with Crohn's for longer than 10 years develop colon cancer. In my case, my Crohn's was left undiagnosed for too long and by the time I received an accurate diagnosis, I had already developed stage IIC colon cancer. But I'm also nearly 50 so the risks were higher to begin with...

My daughter is struggling with what seems like UC but I don’t even know until she has a colonoscopy. She was diagnosed with microscopic colitis but i think it’s a misdiagnosis because she’s presenting lots of blood in stools, anemia, weight loss. She’s only 8 😢

It’s a very mysterious disease. It’s unknown how it begins or starts in people. There is no cure, but they do have treatments and methods of dieting and lifestyle to help relieve the symptoms.
