    That was a fun build. Dukes were my favorite tv show characters as a kid. The end of the video was great. Glad I watched the whole thing.

    Enjoyed this transformation into the dukes of hazard tow truck .The final finished model does you justice and it is a one off ,like the decals which give the finish touch along with the front bumper and towing chain ....excellent

    Great job on this truck!! Terrific paint job! I can picture Cooter driving around the backroads of Hazzard county looking to give Ol' Boss Hogg a tow!! LOL

    Great work, Danny!!!! My preference for any "diecast disaster" is a completely customized model, be it repainted a different color with Real-Riders-type wheels, or this with lots of icing on the cake....the big push bar across the front bumper and the custom hook. By chance, I was doing a tow truck today and looking for ideas for a "proper" hook for a tow truck, and there I go.....thank you for the inspriation for a chain and hook!!!!!!!!

    Got a real yearning to find one of these Dodge breakdowns, purely for its purpose as a wrecker towtruck.
    Been a real trial to find an original in reasonable condition.
    You did a nice job of customising this though 👍

    Great looking truck! I don't remember what Cooters truck looked like. But that one looks like Cooter is ready for a night on the town with those flashy rooms. The only thing that looks out of place is the cable. It looks too big.

  • @manofthehour6856
    @manofthehour6856 Před 2 lety +1

    ....incidentally, the Dodge Wrecker is a classic example of where Matchbox might have gone wrong in that it didn't mix up the colors or liveries often. Today, you have a month to find something in the stores before it is essentially retired and that keeps interest at its peak, but even into the 1980s and 1990s, some models just had the one color, or possibly a second recolor. The Dodge tow truck begged for additional liveries, especially for the US market where BP was not a trade name here at that time despite being world-famous. I would think other gasoline / petrol companies at that time would have been willing to lend its name to Matchbox for promotional purposes, and probably a much less complex situation than today where brands are guard fiercely and licensing agreements involve large sums of money.
