This is a job I seem to do once a year!
The property is rented to students and at the end of the year I come and tidy up whatever they have not done!🤔

I have to ask, does the landlord provide a mower? It could be a nice space for socializing for his renters if they keep it in order. Even studying outside if the weather permits and you have a couple of simple plastic chairs and a parasol
No the landlord doesn’t provide a mower but they are cheap enough secondhand.
In the past the garden has been used more. Not the past few years though!👍😊
I agree with ya .some landlord just collect rent and don't want to take care of the outside of there building. You are right.blessings and good health to you and your family ✌️💕

At least it was mostly grass…but there was a LOT of that. Maybe he should rent to Landscape Architecture students?

This garden is a good size despite being on the outskirts of a city near me. They used to give houses a good size garden.
We had so much rain earlier in the year everything has grown a lot!

This could be a nice space. As a landlord, I think I handle this differently to this one. I would have you come in the fall as well. You have to think about the neighbours too.
I do work for lots of landlords and they are all different.
Some do pay me to regularly do the grass so it doesn’t get out of control.🙂

If I hadn't seen a peice of concrete path I would think it was all grass. How do they get any washing they do dry or do they take it home monthly or when they ran out of clean clothes, dryer costs to much in electricity to use.

How and where are students, not the richest group of people, supposed to get a mower from? Surely the landlord should have a monthly contract for the grass to be maintained and if necessary add this to the contract for the house?
You can get a second hand mower for the price of a couple of pints, or sometimes free🤷♂️

If i was the landlord. I would have a shed, with a mower and strimmer in it. It would be written into the rental agreement that the grass must be kept cut and tidy under penalty of hefty fines . And. I would be round to make sure it was cut.

When are people going to stop doing everything for their kids? When my son went to Uni, he could cook, clean, do his own washing and keep his room tidy. It’s doing them absolutely no favours at all.

I know what you mean but the ivy was holding it together as the fence panels are quite old!
Also it’s the neighbours fence so I didn’t want to risk damaging it!🙂
Could you spray grass weed killer at least on the patio so it could be seen and used? I bet the owner has the inside redone every year also😵💫
I think I did do that once but it was still as bad by the time I returned 😆😅

The garden is way too big for short term renters to manage. No short term tenant will spend their own money on a lawnmower. The landlord should get you in more often.

It’s in the contract that the garden is kept tidy. I guess it’s up to the landlord but most rented property you are expected to at least cut the grass 😄
