Honestly I thought improver would be a finalist. Gave this one to improver, but damn wing really killed it out there. Both are super amazing, can't wait to see (hopefully) BOTH next year!
He needs to practice countering people. He never battles with a counter mindset more like a performance mindset. That's why he always does well in solo elims but not so well in battle format.
Improver definitely didn't win this, he got dismantled so easily... the counters by WinG were crazy...

@@CorsonDrax tbh honest wings counter where just easier version of the beat improver was doing which is kinda low, and to me a counter is showing that you can do the same thing as your opponent better but in this case it was just not as good and proved that improver was better in this context

for me this was not close at all. WinG's complexity and structure just smashed Improver's rounds. I felt Improver's rounds to be very lacking.

Unpopular opinion, I think besides the counter improver won round 1, wings is cleaner and also kind of more complex, but its missing a bit of punch, the drops are mostly present on high frequencies which makes it feel kind of hollow, its just my opinion tho
@@gipsy45It's just a difference in preference I suppose. The judge panel of gbb23 are known for complex and musical routines, so complexity and arrangement is going to be preferred, not hard hitting drops or low bass. Look how badly Inertia performed this year when him doing the same thing got him far in gbb21, really shows the difference in judging criteria.

This was definitely the closest one yet. Both of them killed it. Hearing one of the most iconic routine ( second round) live was definitely one of my favorite moments in this GBB.
for me this wasn't close at all. Improver's routines were very lacking. WinG is too technical and structurally complete

I think Improver underestimated Wing's ability with his first round. Imo Improver's cat round is good but the buildup was too simple and Wing countered easily. If Improver had gone with one of his other routines, it could've gone either way. But his second round was much better and on par.
One thing for sure though, Wing definitely can battle, even though he has such a clean and musical style. Big ups to both of them for this insane battle tho! 🥵
