Meeting with Max Skalenius, Swedish young Catholic

- We met with Max Skalenius on a pilgrimage to Vadstena, the town of Saint Bridget of Sweden. This is a story about how he discovered the Catholic church, especially in its traditional expressions. He experiences a renewal of Catholic faith among young people in Sweden.

There is something that the supporters of the Post-Conciliar Mass still do not want to understand. That the common denominator between almost all conversions 'in partibus infidelium' (and in this case also 'In partibus hæreticorum') is a faithful and unequivocal adherence to the Tridentine Mass.
As a descendant of Swedes in Brazil, I am very happy to see the revival of the Catholic faith among Swedish Catholic youth.
The Lord has answered my prayer for Sweden to return to the faith.This is a people that has had their faith stolen away but I believe has a deep hunger for God. Thank-you St. Bridget for your intercessions and continue to ask Our Lord to pour out His graces on these young people.

it astonishes me that sweds seem to speak better English than we Americans do. but it is nice to see. i think many in the catholic world forget that Sweden still has catholics.....not many just over 30 thousand but the fact they still have any is a miracle in of itself.
I have business dealings in South Korea. On a regular basis, Korean companies send back documents written by Americans because the English is so bad. There are error in simple subject-verb forms, syntax, grammar, logic, spelling. The triumph of the dumbing-down of the Yanks.

You need to contact the croatian priests in Sweden. There are now many croatians in Sweden they are mostly catholic.

the state of religion or should I say its Neer decimation in Sweden is startling. say what you will about Liberal minded Catholics or Christian denominations but we can at least agree that if a sinner sins and has god to lean on a church to go to or prayers to say that is something there is allways a chance for salvation .but what else can you say about a society that has become so secularized that its citizens or subjects are virtually atheists .......nothing . Nothing except they are the devils by default and are going to hell as a result ; hell even the Pagans have the good sense to worship a divine being/beings grater than them instead of just livening completely for themselves and on a Mear set of ethics. But such harsh but true words will not win over harts and souls to god one must go about it more gentle like. I hope Sweden ant the rest of Europe and the UK has a grate roman catholic revival soon.
Nordic Catholics, that's un existent today. All Catholics in Nordic countries died off 5 centuries ago, modern "nordic catholics" in those places are mostly immigrants from historical catholic countries with only a very very few native minority of converts, and sadly most (if not all) of those "catholics" (immigrants and natives both) are novus ordos, which hardly makes them any different from lutherans. Again, Catholicism died off in Scandinavia centuries ago, if it ever was truly present in the culture and life of those countries, which judging by their scarce catholic heritage, how long they resisted conversion, how little they lasted as catholics and how easy they gave up Catholicism for the lutheran heresy, it is very unlikely Catholicism was ever important for them as part of their culture, lives and spirituality.
