    Produce Flame is also good for nearly the entire Act 2, for revealing the sleep paralysis demons that hide around you, then chunk it at them

    The funny thing is, Produce Flame SHOULD be better than Firebolt because Blue Flames are hotter than yellow/orange

    My light cleric’s deity is Selune. Lithander makes sense as well. I think it makes even more sense given the fire/radiant focused damage.

      Blue Fire - Moonlight.
      Yellow light - Dawn light.
      I think Selune fits better purely for aesthetic. Lol

    i love light cleric, it's one of my fav subclasses in all of dnd. it's as good a cleric as any cleric and, depending on how good you are at positioning your melee characters, it's arguably the best fireballer you can get

    • @Melina_Evarblume_Seelie
      @Melina_Evarblume_Seelie Před 6 měsíci +1

      The best Fireballer is clearly Evocation Wizard.
      You can chuck those at them without a care in the world.

    • @TheDeerInTheHeadligh
      @TheDeerInTheHeadligh Před 6 měsíci +1

      @@Melina_Evarblume_Seelie i'd argue the evocation wizard is the easiest fireballer, but not necessarily the best. you gotta think about what else the character is doing. if your goal is just doing the most aoe damage possible, then light cleric wins bc while you're slinging fireballs, you can also concentrate on spirit guardians, the best sustained aoe damage spell. the other classes have merits too; sorcerer can twin haste, as well as quickened or careful fireball for strong support or rapid damage output. and wizard can learn basically any spell, so there's all kinds of combos they get that the other casters don't. but for just slaying out, it's light cleric all the way for me

    Late to the party on this but I did something very similar but for Ray of Frost.
    White or Silver Dragonic bloodline Sorc to lvl 6. Elemental Adept: Cold.
    Potent Robe, Necklace of Elemental Augmentation, Snowburst Ring, Morning Frost, Winter's Clutches, Coldbrim Hat.
    Not quite Eldrich Blast but pretty nice damage and the ability to knock people over fairly reliably.

    For another cantrip focused build, you could try a shocking grasp build using similar gear and go to at least storm sorcerer 6 for heart of the storm. It says you need to use a level 1 spell, but it must be bugged because it works with shocking grasp. Since you're a sorcerer you would be able to twin cast/extend its range as well. Sounds fun with tempest cleric and reverberation gear.

    On the note of trying to get potent spellcasting to work with Eldritch Blast:
    While that does not work, for 2 more levels and going into wizard, you can in fact add your intelligence and your charisma to EB. Taking 2 levels of WL and 10 levels of evoker does accomplish this.
    Now, this isn’t going to be stronger than say a well built Sorlock. But it is in fact kinda fun to see how many modifiers you can stack onto your Eldritch Blaster (add potent robes for another instance of your charisma)
    Will your stats suck? Probably. but seeing as this build doesn’t work until max level, grab the constitution amulet from the House of Hope to free up some point buy stats, and visit the mirror and Ethel to help out.

    I always made mine 3 lvls Sorc 1lvl Wizard and 7 lvl Light Cleric.
    Sorc for that Meta Magic Twin and Quicken Spell. Plus Storm Sorc flight.
    Wizard for learning pretty much any spell in the game mainly used it for Summons.
    The rest pure cleric and get all those monster fire spells.

      Yes but there's no benefit to that in this case, as you don't get a buff to EB with the Potent Spellcasting feature. Firebolt would actually be stronger.

    "Pyromancy is the ultimate fantasy…"
    "We are born into Dark, and warmed by Fire, but this Fire we cannot touch."
    "Those whose fascination with Fire persists, learn to hold it in their own hand."
    If fire, the ability to wield fire as Pyromancy is the ultimate fantasy, then what of blue fire, what is it, where does it come from, and what does it portend?
    The coming of the gods, their gift to the faithful perhaps? Or an oracle of the changing of the age?
    Can we even understand as our own hands dance with this blue flame?
    I had an idea what you could do with your videos, Narrative Builds. Not the Origin characters but with your builds like this add storylines for them, a back story that lead them to this path, something to tie it all together. A little roleplay love, maybe take your videos to the next level with thematic gameplay videos and in character dialouge over the top, to give feeling and character to the build?
    As you can guess I love the idea of blue fire, something about it, for me blue fire is the ultimate magical fantasy, an arcane flame.
    "Good bye then.
    Be safe, friend.
    Don't you dare go Hollow."

    Love the concept of this built. Had a question though and a couple of my own ideas:
    First off I’d like to ask- you keep bringing up that going with something like Firebolt would be more optimal but that you’re going with produce flame because it looks cooler. How would you even get the game to recognize firebolt as a cleric cantrip? Isn’t the only way to get Firebolt either through race (High Elf) or one of the Caster Initiate feats? At which point this would still be counted as another class’s cantrip?
    Second, I know you said you weren’t going for a fully optimal build with this video but wouldn’t another way to get martial weapons proficiency in an optimal setup be to go Githyanki? Meaning you could go Cleric 11 Monk 1 and still get 6’th level spells?
    Or as well, considering the fact that this build is based more around the idea of pure spellcasting, why even bother with the proficiency in the first place? Our chances of even going melee in the first place is slim. And all that equipping a weapon you’re not proficient with does is not allow you add anything to attack rolls with that weapon. We still get all the effects of the weapon itself however and it does not effect our spellcasting. So why not still go Cleric 11 and Monk 1 and just abandon the idea of melee all-together? You could even put something like Ketheric’s shield in the other hand or dual wield a staff with the dual wielder feat.
    As I said I know you stated in the video that some of this was for when the build was previously based around Paladin and that you weren’t going for complete optimal build. But just a few ideas.
    Great video!

    • @HoboZone
      @HoboZone  Před 6 měsíci +2

      Firebolt would be stronger if you built around it like we did with produce flame, in which going draconic sorcerer and doing a similar set up would produce more damage overall. The melee thing was kind of a leftover from when this build had two levels of paladin, so that you could cast produce flame to buff your weapon with fire and arcane synergy and then hit your opponent with a big searing smite. I still liked the idea of having melee as an option so I didn't bother to change it (I also kinda had to rush this video out as I was behind schedule). As for the Githyanki thing, I just didn't wanna build a Githyanki lol
      I ended up changing the build quite dramatically at the end once a realized a flaw. I really just go with whatever I'm feeling with these videos and don't think too hard a lot of the time. Sometimes it creates great builds, and sometimes it gets weird results like this.
