  • Patients who are able to take their prescriptions orally are those most likely to benefit from the ease and efficacy of this delivery method. Many drugs with short half-lives are now available in sustained-release or time-release oral formulations that allow for gradual absorption over the course of many hours.

In watching the video, I was able to review my knowledge regarding medication administration, including the patient's 10 rights, medication ticket specificities, and the included nursing responsibilities. Although these concepts have already been introduced and discussed to me before, this lecture or video is still beneficial because of how important it is to properly administer medications. So I appreciate having this as a reviewer or reminder on what to do and not to do during medication administration. Furthermore, I was also able to reassess myself if I have been properly doing these right things and applying them during the entirety of my duty. As a responsible student nurse and future professional nurse, it is important for me to not only reassess if I was doing the right thing, but also be prepared and confident enough even before performing a procedure.
