  • Here is a box full of solid silver items (11.3kg) All collected over 10 years by my client. He bought in car boot fairs (yard sales) jumble sales, antique shops, auctions, charity shops, dealers etc…and now we’re going to sell the lot. All hallmarked silver. Some items will be sold as scrap silver and are dest0ned for the melting pot. Others items will be sold will be saved and
All the silver is uncleaned and as found, which is the best way to sell it in auction
All the silver will be sold at Elstob & Elstob Auctioneers in Ripon www.elstobande...
Do you have unusual antiques to talk about / sell. I’m always looking for interesting items and interesting people to feature here on my channel!

Some beautiful pieces there. I’d be curious to know how much was spent considering they were from boot fairs.

I'd name that lot, 'The Comstock Box'.

Very interesting job lot.The agricultural trophy’s are quite collectable l think and are part of history so should make more than scrap, are the bases weighted that makes a difference to value ? Hopefully you’ll unearth a few rare pieces in the box,I love opening packages like that🤞🙏

Now THAT is an auction lot! Shipped properly too - if a knife couldn't get neither would a thief. 02:35 NOT American I'd wager. Peruvian maybe? The 1989 salver/footed plate was probably a boot sale find, from a kid or grandkid who never saw the marks. I bet that trophy sells for better than scrap. People will read the inscription and laugh their heads off and start bidding. In the USA we find a ton of weighted stuff, i.e. sterling tinfoil over a plaster and steel core. I melt that for scrap on sight; that's all it's worth anyway.

Don’t think that by cleaning it your improving it but all the silver behind you in the cabinets is shiny! Ten years worth from dealers? Do you write this stuff yourself?

Terrible packaging ! Probably most of the pieces were damaged or scratched in transit ! Why is it so difficult to wrap each one in paper ?

@@Danny-bv6zv You’re right, but they were all bought at scrap prices over the years, due to them having scrapes, dents etc
