35വർഷം മുൻപ് ഞാൻ നീലഗിരി യിലെ കൂ നൂ രിൽ ജോലി ചെയുമ്പോൾ ആണ് ആദ്യ മായി സാം മനേക്ഷായെ കാണുന്നത്. അദ്ദേഹം കാറിൽ പോയി കൊണ്ടിരുന്നപ്പോൾ ഞങ്ങളെ പുഞ്ചിരി യോടെ ശ്രദ്ധിച്ചു. ഞങ്ങൾ എല്ലാ വരും അദ്ദേഹതിന്നു സല്യൂട്ട് കൊടുത്തു. എന്തൊരു പൗരുഷ o, റോസ് നിറം, അദ്ദേഹം ചെറുപ്പത്തിൽ എത്ര സുന്ദര നായിരിക്കും.., എന്ന് ഞാൻ ചിന്തിച്ചു പോയി. ആദ്യവും അവസാനവുമായി ആ ധീര പുരുഷനെ അന്ന് കണ്ടു.

@@vishnukunissery8194 before Manekshaw was made field Marshal, the Army Chief was the chief of tri forces ....CDS is not the Chief of tri forces...he doesn't have that authority...he is just the person who is dealing with the cabinet on behalf of the defence forces...he can't command the triforces on any combat matters by law...but since he is the senior most of triforces chief , others will respect his words...at the time of Bangladesh war the both Naval and Airforce chief was under the Army Chief

I think you are wrong. First Kashmir war was lead by Field Marshal Kariappa. Sam Manekshaw has only lead 1972 Bangladesh Liberation War. He wasn't in that top level in the beginning.
