Mom loves doing yoga every day because it makes her body feel great. Today the kids asked Mom to show them how to do some yoga. Mom was happy to teach them, and started with breathing, showing them how to take nice deep breaths and let their bellies get super big like a balloon.
It’s fun doing yoga
It makes you feel so good
Stretching out your muscles
And breathing like you should
We can do some yoga
Every single day
Early in the morning
Or before we hit the hay
The kids did great with their breathing, and Mom thought they were ready to learn their first yoga pose. So she taught them the dog pose. It’s called the dog pose because it looks like a doggie who’s stretching out after taking a long nap. You can try the dog pose too if you want.

Woof, woof! The kids did great at the dog pose. Mom knew the kids were ready for a trickier pose, to help them get better at concentrating. It’s called the tree pose. Can you guess why it’s called the tree pose? Because you have to stand up strong like a tree with your branches sticking out.

The kids did a fantastic job doing the tree pose. Mom was really proud of how well they did on their very first day of yoga! The kids were having so much fun, they didn’t want yoga time to end. They asked Mom if they could try everything one more time - the breathing, and the dog pose, and the tree pose, too!
