This "special song" was a monster hit when it was released in 1977. The album is one of the best of the 70's albums. EVERY song is a classic.
And everybody had it in their record collection
Stevie Nicks A Rock Goddess like few others. Her voice is only made more exceptional when it is in a Live performance, that I've had the pleasure three times.

Not only do I consider this the best Fleetwood Mac album ever, but I also think its songs also have the most profound lyrics on them Nice review!
I love the smooth vibe from the bass and drums on this track. Mic and John were great together.
Lindsey Buckingham made magic of this two chord song. He's a genius.
John Mcvie's killer bass and Mick Fleetwood's drums provide the steady beat, almost like a heartbeat, and to me this is Stevie's best song, vocally and lyrically. A simple, but pure kickass banger.
And I heard she had a cold when she recorded it too. Not sure if that's true or not, but I don't doubt it.

Same here but a Chevy Nova, with a Craig 8 Track and plenty of cassettes to listen to while I cruised the boulevard.
I watched a documentary last week about the making of the "Rumours" album by Fleetwood Mac. I've been listening to this amazing album for several decades but I had no idea about the internal strife the band was experiencing while recording the album.
Great reaction. I have always loved this song, been singing it forever. 🎶🎧
Rumours is really a special album, with every track a true gem. Fleetwood Mac dropped it when I was ten and the songs from it got a lot of radio play back then and for years after. Needless to say, many of those songs are so imprinted in my memory I can hear them in my mind just by thinking about them.
I recall this being slightly popular when it came out. I think it sold 90 zillion copies including mine.

You can see it as singing to a significant other or a friend but she can be singing about what she has been through also ......personal experience !
She's singing it to the guitarist, Lindsey Buckingham. And he had to take it, because they could "never break the chain".
Kinda like he sang Go Your Own Way and Second Hand News to her and she had to take it. They sure were something lol!

Dude lost control...and with good reason. Rumours was magical. They achieved about as close to perfection with this album as any in history. Of, course, there was much chemical boost in the studio pushing this perfection. Just a part of it's magical appeal.
the trippy part of this song, is its addressed to the guy playing the guitar!
For at least 20 years I sang the lyrics wrong , I always thought it said Have you ever dreamed you liked yourself 😂
