Granny taught me this when I was 4 now I am 60 and He has carried me through! Look ever to Jesus ask the Saviour He is more willing to help than we are willing to ask
What a hymn. I thought of it today and had to search for it on the internet when I remembered how my mum would sing this hymn to herself in the kitchen many, many moons ago. And up to this day it still blesses my heart immensely. Thank God for the gift of music. "If music be the food of love, then sing on".
In church hostel children used to sing so melodiuosly.Alongwith them singing l have learnt . Thank you for relaying the old classic. Glory to God.Glory in the highest.
1. Yield not to temptation, For yielding is sin; Each vict’ry will help you, Some other to win; Fight valiantly onward, Evil passions subdue; Look ever to Jesus, He will carry you through. Refrain: Ask the Savior to help you, Comfort, strengthen and keep you; He is willing to aid you, He will carry you through. 2. Shun evil companions, Bad language disdain; God’s name hold in rev’rence, Nor take it in vain; Be thoughtful and earnest, Kindhearted and true; Look ever to Jesus, He will carry you through. 3. To him that o’ercometh, God giveth a crown; Through faith we will conquer, Though often cast down; He who is our Savior, Our strength will renew; Look ever to Jesus, He will carry you through.
What a sill statement to make, please listen to the words, or you may be deaf so just read the words. It’s like what a friend we have in Jesus, it’s uplifting and make you pause for thought, try it sometimes.
